why do you need the elastic thing? why not just leave it in the buckle the whole time?

This is the most ^*&* Ive seen

thks for your effort in sharing this DIY!

Honestly, I think between this DIY and Bhat*ik e90 tail pipe mod, you win 2nd place of the e90's Best of Best Threads

.....suggestions to others, dont try this at home, its dangerous to your health. If you want to temporarily shut the drivers seat belt chime, simply

PULL THE FRONT PASSENGERS SEATBELT TO YOUR SIDE AND SNAP IT ! DONE.

I'm sure it's just an open contact in the buckle. Just look for the wire under the seat and splice into it and tie wires together. No cuting seatbelts. Or you could put a toggle switch to turn it on or off but thats more trouble. Chime is anoying.

if you slide the seat back all the way and raise the front butt section all the way, you can reach under and free up the harness that feeds all of the electrical to the driver's seat. it is wrapped in a cool black "fingercuff" style sheathing. untape the junction where the large sheath splits into the smaller sheaths and locate the 20 gauge (smallest) brown wire with a light green trace on it. disconnect wire or cut and tape both ends.

this should do it. the info was provide by a "off the record" bmw mechanic... not verified personally yet.

when i get my car in june... this will be the first thing i will attempt to do. but i will disconnect the wire not cut it.
