Any carbon fiber experts know the difference in trim kit quality?

So I read that BMW will release a carbon fiber kit as a retrofit this summer -- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18889.

1. One guy says OEM will be like $1444? Source?

2. Schnitzer is $1602 for the console and 'front' trim, PLUS, $1093 for the doors. NOT including the $412 steering wheel insert. Or the $349 shit knob. For a total 'bargain' of $3,456.00 or basically what you can get a Cartier Roadster for.

3. J Levi says their kit will be $700 or $750 for silver.

4. So what's the difference? Is it just for the 'AC schnitzer' logo? Durability, what?

1. that's just a guess

2. you're paying for the name, the same with Hamann and Hartge

3. these are probably made at the same factory as the OEM are/will be

4. my guess - just the name.

However, I have seen BAD cf at auto shows where guys DIY and just can't get the weave to not pull or pinch in spots. Factory made cf is the way you want to go. And, you can probably skip the logo unless you're into that sort of thing.

Also I have seen kits that are not replacement trim, but glue on trim and I'd stay away from those too (they seem to be about $400-$500 range).

-hate to BUMP-

Appreciate the response from 'Gitta,' but could anyone else weigh in? The carbon weave on my mont blanc key chain is almost holographic. That effect is why I am getting ready to "cave in," for the tuner brands. Since, the dial on my watch just doesn't have that same 'holographic' quality as my key chain, I am wondering:

1. Has anyone had a schnitzer/hamann/hartge carbon fiber kit in their car, and could you weigh in?

2. Or, if you had a JLevi, or fiber-design kit, what did you think?

Bests

I've seen the Carbon fiber kit from AC Schnitzer in silver CF, their pattern is very close but yet different with what offer by Nurdynamik, Jlevi, F-design. ACS use 1*1 plain silver and Nurdynamik and other use 2*2 twill.

For the black one is pretty much the same except the ACS Logo.

How come AC Schnitzer, Hamann, Breyton are more expensive?
- You buy their name.

Hows the quality of Nurdynamik? **********s carries them just not for the E90, but maybe soon I don't know. I believe fucy626 (fusion autowerkz) was offering Nurdynamik. I don't know what happened to that. Their prices are simliar to jlevi (JleviSteetWerks).

Any others??? I guess I trust the Nurdynamik name the most (not sure why). I basically see 3 price levels. The ACS/Hamann/Breyton at the top (thousand$). Private individual sellers at the bottom. And the ones i've just mentioned fall in between in the $700 range. The ACS is beautiful but i'm guessing most of us will settle on the mid price range offerings? or private sellers?

Most can wait for BMW oem CF but i'm guessing they won't offer silver or titanium and as someone mentioned the price might hit over a thousand.

Anyone get to sample Nurdynamik on their previous BMWs???
