Have recently noticed an unusual sound coming from my engine. I have recorded videos of it.

it's a medium to high pitch sqeel almost. You have to tune your ear to it when driving, but once you do, you always hear it.

What I know about it is this:

- Only starts occurring when the engine warms. When the engine is cold, it does not occur. Once engine hits 250F, the sound starts, then won't stop.

- Noise is constant whether the accelerator pedal is engaged or not.

Could it be a failing water pump?

Hi. Yes, nothing other than a light code (which I haven’t seen before).
I took it to the main dealer today and they say it’s the transfer case making the noise. Parts are being ordered and they’ll have it replaced in a couple of days.

Cost is $4-5k, for a car with just shy of 40k miles in 3.5 years. Thankfully CPO warranty covers it. I hope this actually *is* the issue. Will report back.

Could be a few things.. videos unless very defined and specific don't tell us much. Recording devices all vary and so does playback. Bring it somewhere and have a tech look at it.

Issue was a worn output bearing in the transfer case. I have another video with the noise whilst moving. Couldn’t hear it when stopped. Glad it’s fixed!
