M340i with 893M 245/255 wheel from G42

Hi, do you think this will fit on a G20/G21?

Styling/Design: Doppelspeiche 893M STD HP
Part number: VA: 36111543823 / HA: 36111543824
Size: Front: 8,5x19 ET 25 / Back: 9,5x19 ET 35
112x5

Tires Front:
245/35R19 93Y1
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S * XL4
Tires Rear:
255/35R19 96Y1
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S * XL4

Since it works with the G42 xDrive system, it should also work with the G20 one...

It's funny you should ask about this, I was just looking at those wheels the other day, wondering the same thing. I really like the look on the M240i and am thinking about them as an OEM alternative to the 792M wheel that will come on my car. Hopefully you'll get some people to chime in on this.

Did anyone try this yet. I love the G42 wheel, especially since I originally had one on order with that wheel. They are a little hard to find mainly because there aren't that many G42s around. I had my order cancelled by the factory. Also the M Pro pack didn't seem that common of a ticket item according to my dealer. I haven't see any in my city yet. Love to see that on the car though. Based on all the reading I've done they should fit no problem, the Apex Racing wheels are 0.5" wider at the rear and fit just find so I can't see the 9.5 with similar offset having an issue

Quickly photoshopped this onto my G22. Maybe its the angle but I doesn't look as good as I hoped.

Maybe better as a 20 but then everything is better with a 20.

1. Your photo shop skills are solid, usually attempts to do this look like crap, this is spot on.
2. I think that looks great, just enforces my thought that this would be awesome OEM+ option for the 3 series.

Maybe at some point, some replica company will do a 20" version.

I have also been wondering about if the xDrive system in M240 can cope with >1% larger tires in the rear or if there are adjustments made on the specifically used tire models in the M240 Pro pack to close the gap.
Has anybody found out the rolling circumference specification on these tires and the specific Michelin article designations?

If you go to a tire size calculator the 245/35 and 255/35 is within 1% of each other in circumference so it will work on any xDrive system. I don't suppose the xDrive is any different between any of the G chassis except for perhaps the G80/82.

I've had that same tire spec on my 792m wheels and under had acceleration the sad system will flash and car will go into limp mode.

That seems really odd as that's the size on the M240i. Also I think the G26 has 245 and 255 as stock too. It's only 0.8% different. 225 and 255 is 0.4% different

BMW documentation for the G20 requires that the thread depth difference between any wheels is max 2mm. That is specified for both the staggered and squared sizes. 2mm should correspond to about 0.6%. It doesn't say how much different the staggered BMW delivered combinations might be to begin with (before potential difference in wearing) but I don't feel comfortable to start at 1% "nominal" difference (just calculating from the tire specs). Different tire models differ from the nominal values so to the real actual rolling circumference might be even more different. (Maybe the M240 tires are special models that have more equal size?)

Me too. These wheels are perfect for G20 in terms of width and offset. I would go with G20 stock tyre sizes, 225/255, and that tiny bit of stretch would be spot on for me. I did a research, and 9.5 ET35 is the perfect fitment, flush with fenders without any poke. 8.5 ET25 pokes 8mm more than 791M, and that's fine.
If only someone knows someone who drives G42 with 893M. It would be nice to see how it looks before spending 3000€, but I guess I'll have to bite the bullet.

So I did some editing and I think it perfectly suits the car. I will order them in next few days. I'll take some photos after I fit them.

After I played with Photoshop for a few days, I placed an order of 893M.
They should arrive in a few days and I will pair them with Pilot Sport 5 in stock sizes 225/255. I'll take some photos after everything is done. Can't wait!

Here's another 2 shopped photos.

Garage List
You could do these sizes with those wheels. Since the rear is 9.5", 275 would fit fine.

I can't do that. Have to stick with factory sizes because in Europe I wouldn't pass the MOT. But I don't mind really because I prefer a bit of a stretch, and this is within tyre manufacturers recommendation.
