BMW CCA

Hey guys,

I was looking at BMW CCA. What are the good reasons to have it. Discounts, Events ? I am interested what it really gives you from someone that does belong.

Additionally, I can't find any coupon codes to join. Need some real world experience around this club.

I signed up late last year because I was looking to get a BMW motorcycle and was interested in the CCA rebate. For me, the rebate (around $500) would pay for the CCA membership (around $200).

You should be careful to not let the membership lapse - https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1880820 has more details.

Sounds like if I purchased before delivery I can take advantage of the discounts associated with the membership ?? Any time requirements? I will be taking delivery in about 20 days.

I belong for the rebates and the Roundel magazine. I'm hoping to have the time to start going to some events also and there are usually some nice rides as well as track events.

You need to be an active member for a year in order to get a rebate. The exception for that is buying a 3 year non-refundable membership at least 6 months prior to delivery.

Do you:

1. Want car purchase discounts?
2. Enjoy the company of BMW enthusiasts?
3. Attend cars and coffee events?
4. Partake in driving events/ car tours?
5. A lifelong BMW fan regardless of what's in your garage?

If you answer "yes" to two or more of above, buy it

I'm a somewhat new member myself. I agree with others that Roundel was first a pleasant surprise and has since become a thing a look foreword to receiving. Think I'm on my 4th or 5th issue and they've been a really great read. I'm so far disappointed in the NY chapter events and the first track day I wanted to participate in with our M is TBD if they will allow SAVs. In a way I guess I get it but in another way it seems pretty shitty, especially since I can sign up for non-CCA track days without an issue. Like it or not, BMW is selling a ton of SUVs so seems hard to justify the CCA excluding the brand's breadwinner.

Ymmv. Each club has it's own website, IG and FB pages. Each club has it's own rules on members posting, etc.

I’ve been a member since 2003. Great local group of enthusiasts with many events throughout the year. Every BMW owner should be a member.

Congratulations. Welcome aboard!

I joined in 2011, shortly after I bought my first BMW (a used, 2010 E70, 35d), as I had noted the Roundel content and thought that, along with a good chance that I'd buy a new one and would eventually use the rebate. Additionally, check out the discounts, as some of those are material, if you have interests that match.

I've since done 2 rebates, the first for a 2015 F15, 35d and most recently, a 2020 G06, M50i. But as noted, you have to plan ahead to make use of the rebates. Terms are well documented here: https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate.

If you don't find a lot of value with your local chapter or are looking for something different or in addition to, consider one or more of the non-geographic chapters, like the X Chapter or M Chapter. (All of them are listed here: https://www.bmwcca.org/chapterfinder...aphic-chapters.)

You can belong to one of the non-geographic chapters instead of a local chapter or in addition to your local chapter. (Personally, I belong to my local geographic chapter and also belong to both the X and M chapters. I've found value in all 3 and enjoy the mix of local and national opportunities, etc.)

The M & X chapters both just formed about the time Covid hit the US, so they're likely spinning up a bit slower than I'm sure they originally intended, but they both have great leadership and have been doing a mix of virtual and physical events with things ramping up. Coming up in April will be the 2nd annual MX1 Weekend. Last years' was fun and I plan to attend again this year. (The M Chapter is hosting a driving day at the BMW Performance Center on both Friday and Saturday this year for a really good price.)

Ditto Flying Ace…each individual chapter has multiple ways of staying in contact with its chapter members…my chapter sends out a periodical newsletter. And the Roundel (national) has a classified section where I think the ad is free.

See link in my sig for additional info on BMW CCA.

Filled out my $1000 rebate application, yesterday. Totally worth it even if that is the ONLY thing you use.

Roundel.
Bimmerlife.
10% off parts at dealer. Seems small but adds up.

My chapter (Golden Gate) does allow BMW SAVs. Check with your local chapter, but this should be fairly consistent.

I've been a member for a long time

1. get a refund on purchasing new BMW (depending on the model, X5 is $1000 this year, mine is approved, now just waiting for the check)
2. great Roundel magazine (usually once a month or every other month)
3. great Bimmer Life magazine (usually once a quarter)
4. If you like to gamble a little annual raffle (1 ticket $25, I usually buy 10, raffle goes on for about 4 months) you can get some prizes or exclusive items when you buy tickets
5. discounts for BMW parts and merchandise (depends on what and where, but usually 10-15% off) I never really used this but its nice to know its available
6. Regional meetups but I prefer my local massBMW club

I'm sure there is more, I just can't think of at the moment
Finally be part of the Club and enjoy!
