I need some help figuring out the OEM interior compartments.

In the glove box there is a weird shape next to the storage compartment. SOLVED, its for a flashlight that I didnt get

Ive seen pics of a umbrella holder on the floor of the passengers side, but I cant find it on any vendor sites. SOLVED

In the trunk there is a spot for the first aid kit. Next to that, the spot above the tools is suppose to be for the owners manual? SOLVED, owners manual
On the left side in the trunk there is a plastic area. I dont know what should go there.

And of course under the lid in the trunk, is the odd shaped storage compartment, which I cant figure out what should go in there that wont rattle around.

Thanks

As far as things in the trunk, put whatever will fit in it

Yeah, but I dont know why BMW made a random hole there. They should have just made a space for a spare or underfloor storage compartments.

Everything I think about putting in there rattles around.

I have the manual in the right side tray, and the left one is empty. I keep bags under the compartment.

It seems the manual does fit nicely in there, but then I have to find a different spot for my registration. I dont think the cops would like me having to go to the trunk for it.

I might try to find a small case and keep a bottle of quick detailer and a rag in the trunk compartment. Or maybe a can of fix-a-flat.

I still cant believe that the owners manual cant fit in the glovebox especially with so many controls that need to be learned.

Does your registration have your address on it? If so, carry it in your wallet.

I have a small case that I keep a bottle of quick detailer and a microfiber towel in. I keep the case on the left side of the trunk. Right side I keep a first aid kit. I also have a bigger sealable plastic container in the trunk. I use that to carry take-out. It keeps it warm and keeps the trunk from smelling.

Maybe consider getting a all weather trunk mat? I have it and it's great. It keeps things from sliding around.

yea i put Armor-All interior wipes in there. Very convenient after my sister uses it and it's all gross inside (she doesn't appreciate my bimmer ). I agree though, most cars the instruction manuals fit in the glove-box (because who really uses it for gloves anymore?). It's frustrating having the manual in the back.

I guess a thief could see my address on the reg card and come to my house or something. I might start keeping it on my wallet.

Im glad other people keep detailer in their car. So im not the only one who runs to the trunk to touch up the car in the parking lot, lol?

Those two holes in the inside of the trunk lid are two areas in which one could get a hold of to close the trunk with out leaving grease spots on the paint.

Can you think of any other use for those holes?

I think those are the only two interior compartments that I did know. Thanks

That would be a purpose, not a use.

But don't you mean symmetrical? Maybe you did mean semetrical but I don't see how that applies.

I see you have a 335 -- the trunk cavity is weirdly shaped to fit around the exhaust system. Look under your car from the back and you'll see how big the mufflers are.

The NA 3'ers have bigger under-floor compartments because there's only one muffler.

Yup I know how big the mufflers are, they are sitting right in my living room.

I didnt know that the other model had a larger compartment there though.

In a 325i or 328i, what is the circular hole inside the armrest?

At first I thought it was another drink holder, but not around those electronics. I put a bottle of Purell hand sanitizer.
