Ah yes! new pics!
The only pics I've seen of an electric red so far are the two or three pics of the car that was damaged.
I can't wait to see some good pics of an electric red that doesn't have the black tape camo all over it.

I'm definitely getting mine in this color.

Red E90 on display at auto show - and no black stripes! I think this car looks stunning in red personally. Thanks whoever took these!

Red is damn nice.. no E90 color has really jumped out at me until now. Sparkling graphite is nice but everyone's gonna have that color. If you can deal with the attention (even unawanted attention from cops), get red

I ordered red. I've always thought it looked beautiful on the E46, and was so glad to hear it would be offered on the E90.
I know of another member on some BMW message boards named "Awad" who ordered Electric Red. So there's two people so far...

I also like that in Germany it's called and the paintsticker under the hood of the car says "Japan Rot"

Rot ist das Wort für die Farbe "red" auf Deutsch.

This thread made me think...I don't think I have ever seen a red BMW--anywhere. I think this is probably a really rare color. There are a lot of BMWs in town, but they are usually either black, white, gray/silver, or sometimes blue. But I don't think I've ever seen a red one, not even on the M or Z models. I'd have to agree that this is a pretty rare color.

What does that mean? I'm really starting to think red is the undiscovered gem of a color for the e90. That last pic is awesome! Wait till they offer the Imola Red for the M3...

"Rot" is the word for the color red in German.

There, that's your German lesson for today!

I'll be honest, I've always liked black cars, but this E90 in red really really looks great!!!

Question

I assume many of you already own a red bimmer, as I do, so I think this is a good thread to ask this. My bright red 1996 318ti is having it's clearcoat peeling off & well...looks bad. I talked to BMW rep(>6 years, no warranty) & he implied red has a much higher maintenance factor. IE I should have shelled out big buck$ for yearly silicone coatings, etc or kept my 318 waxed in a garage.

Well I have no garage, waxed it 2x a year, & live in Seattle(which is NOT the sun capitol of the USA). Some body shops here thought the main problem was the BASF clearcoat used, ie it was water bourne, & first used in the 1996 3-series. I've seen red bimmers from earlier years that put my finish to total shame...even ones from Arizona!

I would like to hear feedback(pro/con) from others who have red bimmers. Why do I want this feedback? Because I still love the color red & may buy a 2006 325 coupe. I need to know if my situation was just a fluke, or common enough that I should think twice about not making the same mistake again...TIA
