Broken / Noisy ventilation + fan

Hi, I have a problem in the ventilation/fan.

The fan is making a noise like it is not in balance. My guess is that there is a leaf or something in the rotor, but I can not figure how I will get it away from it. I had similar problem in my old Audi and it was easy to fix in that, but the E90's rotor seems to be unreachable. I was not able to get to it by removing the fresh air filter.

I would really like avoiding going in to the BMW here, because one thing that they are experts in is overcharge you when you need help. Reading the errors from the computer is 130€ here... and that is basically the minimum for them for any job or maintenance.

Can anyone help?

I think I am having a similar issue. I get a high pitch squeel while accelerating or turning. BUT only when it's cold out. Say below 20F (-7c). Otherwise it's ok. p2

I had this exact issue. I took it to my dealer, and they told me the blower needed to be replaced. They handled it as a warranty issue, and had the parts in stock.

Same here!
It only happen to me when it's below -15c
I set up an appointment with my dealership and of course they couldn't reproduce the problem. (After 4 test drives in a -18c condition)
So the very next day, I went back and took a tech. for a test drive. Finally they heard it,,,
they told me the blower motor was rusted and caused by water (why??)
had parts in stock and replaced within 2 hours under warranty.

+1 but it gets more noticable the lower the fan speed is? I'm taking it in to the dealer.

Yep. When I turned the fan speed all the way up, it'd go away. When I turned it down to one bar, it was terribly loud. Also, it got louder when braking or turning. The replaced the blower motor, and it's back to normal.

Blower Fan (e90) 330i

Had a similar issue-as the fan speed was increased the blower made a louder "motor" noise. Took to the dealer and had it replaced. Dealer informed me that the blower was defective.

Good news is the dealer only charged me .5 hr to remove the debris and did it while I waited...so it can't be too tough to get. Sorry I can't tell you how to remove it though. Non warranty of course.
