Gray gets dirty real easily. I'm not a fan personally.
I think all the dakota leathers look pretty damn good. This is really just a matter of personal preference. |

Black or cream biege!!
NEVER GREY!! For the look, cream beige is the one to go with dark wood! For the ease of cleaning/maintaining, go for black. I have beige dakota with dark wood in AW. I love it! Gives you a luxurious feeling.

I have gray dakota and abs love it. IMO, it looks horrible on the BMW config and looks nothing like that in rl. As for getting dirty, I clean my leather once per month and it looks just the same as the first day I picked it up.
With that said, not sure how well AW will go with gray, have you considered AW/saddle?

I have black leatherette, this stuff is bulletproof! Wasn't too sure if I should go leather or leatherette but I'm glad I got the latter. Grey doesn't look good with AW, go with black/alum more sporty or black/burl more luxurious. GL

IMO I wouldn't get grey, I made a mistake. The grey is way too light and keeps the interior lit up , but if your fine with that go for it.

Personally, I've always been satisfied with BMW's leatherette, but one sit in a Dakota leather seat sold me hook, line, and sinker. It's nice stuff. I woulda ended up with it anyway with how the packages line up, but it was the first time upholstery made me say "I have to have this."

Since this thread is purely opinion, I'll offer up my own. I think Black is your safest bet - everyone will think it looks good. Red is a great combination with the white, but not everyone will like it (in fact, I'd say most would find it odd since it's an irregular color). I was afraid I'd get sick of it. I find the saddle goofy for any exterior color - I just don't like it personally. I didn't consider a color beyond black, but my second choice would have been beige with the gray poplar.

Red is an irregular color for an interior (I wasn't commenting on the white / red combo, which btw, I personnaly like a lot - it's just not for me - I'm too boring). How many make / models offer red as an option? The answer is very few. Red interiors are typically reserved for very high end sports cars (Porsche, Ferrari, etc.) and vintage cars.

With Alpine White, black with Aluminium carries through the simplicity and cleanness of the exterior. I think it works best - the purest match.
Red if you want higlights. White and a primary is a better match than Saddle IMHO.
