Tapping noise from dashboard

Sometimes I notice a tapping sound from behind the centre of the dash. Usually only after I've been driving for a few minutes and only noted when the fan is on low speed (1,2 or 3). It continues when the car is stopped, engine running. I found than on turning the fan completely off, it stops shortly afterwards.

It is erratic, occuring once every 2-12 seconds with no particular rhythm.

A/C condensation dripping? Is this normal?

tapping? I hear something sometimes too..but is like a dial tone in a extremely low volume.

I've heard it as well. Seems to go away once the car is warm. Real hard to pinpoint but it's driving me nuts.

Are you all in the smuggling people into the country business? Maybe you left someone in there and you forgot about them, they want out!

I get the faint ticking noise from the dash when I have the cruise control on and it has to brake to maintain speed. It sounds like the rotary phone clicking previously described.
