Changing From f31 to F36 Maybe

Hi all

So been thinking for changing me current F31 330d for petrol something as i am not doing the mileage anymore.

Been looking and BMW I still the winner for me so 3lt Petrol which is leading me to either 140i or which is more likely the 440i GC.

140i would be allot of fun but kind of need the boot space etc... the joys of having responsibility's

I am want the HK, M Performance Pack etc... The full MPPSK would great but rare as so not holding out much hope.

Just after some advice really on what to look for on the GC?
If i buy a standard one as in none of the M body kit or Performance Exhaust are these achievable to retro fit and no does not have to be BWM ones? I really like the sound of the tuned / Performance exhaust note.

Any advice would be appreciated

Cheers

Don't think I've ever seen a non M Sport 440i GC. My last 2 cars were a 420i GC M Sport and a M140i, best friend had a 440i GC at the same time so have driven that also. If I was looking for another I'd go 440i or even 340i tourer.
They come well specd as standard and I just feel the 4GC is more special and grown up.

I think he means the M Performance body kit, side blades and spoiler etc. if so, easy to fit and plenty of non OEM solutions if you search. That said, genuine parts fit better and are cheap from BMW suppliers on eBay.

Yes that's the ones I would be after if the car does not have them.
Can you recommend any Ebay companies you have used in the past?
I did you FLS-UK in the past but did not see the Grand Coupe on their lists.

It was when the petrol particulate filter was fitted. The MPPSK isn't compatible with it.

I believe it was in late 2018 the fun ended when PPF was fitted.

I have just acquired a 440i (vert though) and did an awful lot of research.
Firstly get a 440, the B58 is very very good.
It is also extremely frugal (for a 6 pot turbo) when driven 'normally'.
As said, the MPPSK is not compatible with the particulate filter. Build date for the GPF was from June 2018, so a general rule of thumb is anything on a '68 plate and later will have one. When I was looking, I rang my local BMW dealer and gave them reg numbers to see if they were compatible (they got sick of me after a while).

The facelift, 2017 on, got LED headlights as standard but not the adaptive ones, they were still an extremely expensive option, LED rear lights without amber indicator lenses, but they got the new I-drive 5 which is very good.

HK sound is definitely worth having, it's pretty good for a 'standard' system IMHO.

I managed to find a car with virtually every option and because many delaers are not very vigilant, they missed many of them so didn't charge the premium.

I found a good idea, was to get the VIN number of any car I was looking at (I used many excuses such as HPI related etc)and put it into a decoder, then you can see exactly what it has, or not. HTH

I second the above. I just got an absolute bog-standard 440i GC and love it. Still has leather, heated seats, LEDs etc.
The engine makes it. Averaged 41 on a round trip today from Nottingham to Sheffield. Eco on the m-way, comfort around town and Sport in the multi storey.....

It's better with the roof down! Can't wait for the MPPSK. Added bonus is I can annoy my (knobhead) neighbours into the bargain.

Still a few dealers offering MPPSK on eBay for £1750 fitted with carbon tips.

I got 340’s fitted at Chiswick a couple of years ago. Still put a smile 😀 on face in tunnels.

I swapped for an F31 335d to an F36 440i about 4 weeks ago.
The B58 really suits the car in my opinion. I bought my 335d in March and had no intention of swapping, but my wife got an X3 M40i and I fell in love with the engine.
F31 to F36 wise the cabin is obviously the same from the drives seat. There seems to be less room in the back of the F36 for the kids and the shape of the rear seats aren't as child seat friendly.
Other than that I love the F36.
I looked into the M Performance exhaust but was put off by the lack of the valve, so then started looking at the MPPSK. But as my car is out of warranty I decided to go down the route of BM3 and managed to get a cat back valved milltek system for a good price.
I also have a set of AC schnitzer springs and dampers to go on in the next few weeks.
What amazes me the most about the car is how good on fuel it can be. I can get 40mpg out of it on my 40 mile commute, which is amazing considering my 335d would only do around 45 on the same trip!

Same here, really impressed with the MPG - around 430bhp and more than 40mpg when I'm out of the city
