What should I not do so that BMW won't service my car?
Hey guys, so i picked up my 2007 335i a couple week ago. What should i NOT do so that they won't accept my car because i would be 'voiding the warranty'. I plan on doing minor mods i.e. tint, lights...
This got me worried because i read somewhere here that someone avoids taking it to the dealership because of the cleared reflectors. I mean, are they thaaat serious? What have you guys gotten sh!t for? And what should and should i not do? |

tints and lights should not count as mods IMO....dealership isn't gonna hassle you all that much if you plan on doing cosmetic "mods"....

i think ur english is messed up dude.
do you want to know what things to avoid doing so that you don't forfit your warranty OR do you want to know what things you COULD do so that you definately void your warranty? either way its pretty much the same question but your not really asking it clearly. "What should i NOT do so that they won't accept my car because i would be 'voiding the warranty" you mean what you should not do so that they WILL accept your car? |

Euh what? What shouldn't you do so that they'll still service the car within the warranty?

+1 dont do lights, but mostly cosmetic will probably not void your warranty.

LOL. u can do just about anything thats not mechanical. dealers vary between nitpicky and not caring. I try to have my car as stock as possible before taking it in. bulbs and tints and such things are fine tho. I'm talking like intakes and tunes must be removed. exhaust is fine also

In order to deny a warranty claim the dealer has to show that the problem was caused by the modification. For example the dealer could deny a claim for a blown engine if they found a "chip". They could not however deny a High Pressure Fuel Pump claim because you changed the reflectors.

They do not simply void the entire warranty. It is more correct to think of it as voiding the warranty on the parts related to the parts that you have messed with.
So mess with caution. |

By what you said, does that mean you're going to like decorate the engine or something ?
