Moton Sexy Time
Just got back from the PRI show, where I saw the new Moton Street Sport suspension for the E92 M3. These were designed as an alternative to those who did not want to run the Moton Club Sports (with canisters).
Some specs:
No list price at this time. Nissan GTR kit is also being produced at this time, as well as E60 M5 and E63 M6. Plans for E36 M3 (not sure why) and E46 M3 kits are forthcoming. That's all the info I have at the moment. |

Because E36s are very popular in BMW Club racing.

If an E36 is being club raced, why stop at the Street Sports? Just get the Club Sports. Again, the Street Sport is designed for those who drive their cars daily...with occiasional track days.
No. You lose your EDC. |

So if the 335i 2-way kit is $7k.... what'll the M3 kit be, $8k?
Either way, sexy time indeed and probably worth it.

Club sports are illegal in stock and prepared classes of BMWCCA. Remote canister shock absorbers are not allowed. I believe this is case in SCCA and NASA as well. Modified classes like EP (SCCA) and C-mod (BMWCCA) do allow remote canister shocks, but who would run club sports in those classes? The club sports are not race shocks.

Spoke to Moton USA this AM regarding the suspension.
The E92 M3 suspension pictured are samples, produced just 2 days before the PRI show. They are going to be testing the setup very shortly, on a street car. ETA on availability will most likely be sometime after Jan 09. Based on the Nissan GTR price point, the BMW E92 M3 setup may be slightly more (if not the same) in price. List price on the kit is $4695. The Race Kit (which includes camber plates, race springs, tender springs, rear mounts) lists for $1295. Again, this is based on Nissan GTR pricing. For those in the NJ/NY/CT area, you can look to us for local installation and purchase in the future. |
