My New BMW X3 Broke down on Road

Just got my new 2022 X3 about a month, my X3 broke down on road on last Sunday at 7.30 pm. There was not crash with other car, the sunshie blind me for a second, and my Left wheel goes on some stuff. All I hear 'boom', and then I see my left front whell smoking. My speed was not fast, just 30miles/hr.

I pressed the SoS buttom and then BMW roadside assistance sent a towing truck. My original plan was towing my car to Stevens Creek dealership, but the towing guy told me my car need to go to the Fremont BMW body shop to fix that promblem. (I do not know what happen on my car)

Bad things are being from here.

This morrning, Monday, I contract the BMW Fremont, they said they never receive an order. And I check my car, it is still in the Towing Company.

Then I call the Towing company, they said they will not ship my car to BMW Fremont until they get call from BMW. (what?)

Then I call BMW genius, they send my call to roadside assistance. What I am getting just that, I need to contract the BMW Fremont again.

Then I call BMW Fremont again, they are all offline, just told me they will call me back tomorrow.

What should I do now? Should I call my insurance as well?

Had a similar issue happen but I was in an accident. These tow companies will try to scam by holding your car for a week. It's your choice where to have your car repaired, not theirs. I live in Stockton, was rear ended here, but the accident was in the evening so they towed it to their yard. Should've had it towed to my house. Then these clowns sent me a bill for $1400. BS. Claimed they were waiting for my insurance company to contact them. Tow truck guy had no business making that call.

I just ask them, and they said $870 is charged if I am going to pay myself. Btw, since I dont have a car now, everything become diffcult to reach out.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your vehicle. Without knowing the particulars, it's difficult to make an informed recommendation on what you should do. If you just destroyed the tire and/or rim, then any BMW dealer in the Bay Area should be able to repair your car (assuming they have the correct rims/tires in stock). If you did more damage than that, then you probably need a body shop to assess and repair. SC BMW recommends Auto West Collision (https://awcollision.com/) which is very close to the intersection of I-880 and Hwy 101 so it's not that far out of the way for Fremont. The tow charge seems awfully steep; I have AAA so I'll keep that in mind as my first tow option rather than whatever local shop BMW Roadside Assistance might have a contract with.

Good luck!

Isn't the towing covered by BMW roadside assist? You shouldn't be paying out of pocket for it.

YES, it should cover by BMW roadside assist. But the towing company keeping my car, and I do not get update from BMW, no phone call, no email, no text.

I decide not to pay the towing company, I can use that money to rent a car.

New Updates:
JUN 14
I made a call to bmw roadside assist, and I claim that "I loss my vechicle becuase you guys tow my car to somewhere." They would not take Sincerely care of that if you did not claim a bigger issure. That is my lesson from this case.

They were handling my problem in an hour, I call at 8am, my car is shipped to the dealership at noon.

Bad News here: the dealership told me that my left front wheel suspension broken, it needed to be replaced, and the warrantry does not cover it. I need to report to my insurence. I have start a claim, let insurence take care of it. I do not want to work with them anymore.

BTW, anyone get the similar issue? front wheel suspension issue

I went through the exact same thing last fall. Two company and body shop were all Spiderman about who needed to request what from whom.

Finally got a woman from the dealer's body shop on the phone. "Do I need to drive over there to sort this out" seemed to jar everything loose. Ten minutes later, the tow company had an order and was moving the car.

You ran off the road and hit something that damaged your suspension. Warranty does not cover damages, only manufacturing defects. Your insurance should cover the repair less whatever your deductible amount is.

perfect front bumper. You could not off road in San Jose, CA. I was getting out from highway. I just ran over something that on the freeway, you could not avoid that if you were making a turn!

OK, you hit something ON the road and damaged your front suspension. Either way, warranty does not cover damages. I suspect you may also have a bent wheel well. There are wheel repair places that can fix that for a reasonable fee, and your insurance will probably help with that if the total repair bill exceeds your deductible.

Call your insurance company and file a claim. Might end up being a no-fault comprehensive claim since there was something in the road.

To be fair, it seems relatively apparent that English is not the OP's first language. I chalked it up to being lost in translation.
