X3M Autocross

I just attended a Sandlapper CCA chapter Autocross at the BMW Performance Center. First time on that course with the X3M. We only got in 3 runs before torrential rains hit shut us down for a while. Here is my best run which put me mid pack across all the BMWs there including all manner of M3s, M Coupes, full on track cars, and an older X5.

I believe my settings for the run were comfort steering, sport + suspension, sport throttle, MDM, 4WD sport and paddle shifting (I think). I need to go full DSC off and get into launch control, as I was definitely loosing time at the start.

We later did non timed runs in the wet. The X3M still did well but I didn't push it nearly as hard.

Looks like a blast, what did you record that on? I am doing a Speed Ventures day at California Speedway this Saturday.

An old GoPro with a suction cup mount to the windshield. I did have a rattle with the mount but it sounds resolved.

Thanks, I bought a hero 10 go pro to record and plan on using the suction cup mount.

I did autocross half a dozen times in the summer of '16 with a 320i xDrive.

At the end of the summer, an instructor (very skilled) drove my 320 and posted a better time than most lesser experienced drivers with M3s...

The driver matters more than the car. Even a lowly 320 is amazing in the hands of a skilled driver.
