BMW N52 No spark cylinder 4,5 and 6

Hello,

So I have this type of problem. Couple months ago the large disa valve broked and cylinder 6 valves broke too because of the plastic. I had to do cylinder head remove and get the valves right and stuff. Now with new valve cover gasket and the whole package on I tried to start the car but nothing happened. The engine felt spinning freely. I started to look at the problem and did the spark test. I noticed that cylinder 1, 2 and 3 gave a spark but 4,5 and 6 didnt. Any guesses where should I start to find the possible reason? Car is E90 325i automatic European version. Thanks! If the post is in wrong place, let me know. This is the first one here😄.

Ok, so today I checked all the fuses and ground points that I know (under the coils and where the large ground goes from coil pack. Any other suggestions where should I look fornext?

1) Check to see that all three Brown Coil Ground wires are attached to the stud between coils 5 & 6 per attached photo.

2) If STILL no fire, and/or if that Ground Point is OK, then remove coil #5 connector and test as follows:

3) With Ignition ON, you should have 12V+ at the Orange wire, Socket #3 of coil connector. You should also have continuity
to chassis ground at the Brown wire, Socket #2 of the coil connector.

Please let us know what you find in those tests, and if still an issue, please provide Last-7 Characters of your VIN.

No spark 3 and 4, please help

Good morning,

I have done a valve cover job on my car and afterwards the car is giving me error code, misfire on cylinder 3 and 4.
1. I did ground (2 places) the wiring harness
2. I check for voltage on all coil connectors (8.7V on all)
3. replaced spark plugs on cyl 3 and 4
4. replaced coil pack on cyl 3 and 4

error code is misfire on cyl 3 and 4.

The car does run, but it is not smooth. Mileage on the car is 280,000 km.

suggestions ?

Was this solved?

I currently am having the same issue - no sparking from 3/4. I did my VCG almost 2 years ago, but have run into this issue.

I recently changed my starter and may have messed something up with the intake manifold or throttle body sensors, not sure. Just wondering if you could update. Thanks!
