My Battery Died
I left angel eyes on when i parked and went to work.... 9 hours later, the car won't start!!!!!!! I thought our cars shuts off after 15 minutes (turns off anything that's on). At least this was the case in my e46. I was so pissed off, but that's not it... i used bmw assists to contact roadside assistance. this was my first time calling so they had no info of me whatsoever. Anyway, i stayed on the phone with the customer service for about 20 minutes yapping about my info such as vin, car color, license plate#, and all kinds of info. Then she kept repeating my information and asked me if i was in a safe place.....
she must have repeated the info i said 3 times. it took them about an hour to get there. The tow truck finally came and the guy told me that i should have just gotten a 6 series... i'm like, WTF???? if i could afford one then maybe i'll get one! then he started talking about how he towed all kinds of bmw but he's only towed 2 6 series ever since they came out. then he mentioned "don't worry, i'm not trying to put you down... i've seen worst, mercedes have the worst car".. i'm like, okaaaay... thanks. |

I dont have xenons, so no angel eyes, however, if I leave the lights on in my car, after taking the key fob out, the lights go off as soon as I open the drivers door. Is this not the case for all cars?

Firstly, if you leave your lights on *ie not auto/0* the car thinks you are supposed to leave them on. It does beep three times to remind you that they are on!
Secondly, the tow truck driver was trying to lighten the mood. He was saying get a 6-Series because they don't break. I think it was meant more of a comment of passing, not as an insult. Lighten up a little :-) Thirdly, if you do want to use your parking lights - after the car is stopped, move your indicator stalk to the SIDE to which you want to be light. These parking lights don't run the battery down too fast (I've used mine for 6 hours with no problem) and if I recall correctly, they will turn off if the car senses the battery is going to die. |

If the car senses the battery is going to die, then why in the hell did my battery die on me? and it's not because i wanted to leave the angel eyes, i accidentally left it on. I'm starting to think that bmw forgot to put that auto off mode on all powered accessories after 15 minutes feature. oh well... |
