Door Sill Plate Protection?

What, if any thing, have you done to protect the chrome door sill plate?

As a taller guy, I don’t step on the door sill. However as tradition expects, I married a short girl who does step on the sill. I’d like like to keep it as nice looking as it is now.

isn't the sill plate there to protect to the sill? What are we protecting all of these things for? feels like floor mats to protect floor mats (have seen this done).

I get the ask. As much as I want and like the door sills/trunk scuff plates to look unmarred, in my wife’s ride, they have done their jobs and have taken all the scuffs and scratches. We’re about to take delivery soon of a new X6, I expect the sills and the trunk to get all beat up as well.

Prolly best to just bubble wrap the whole car to protect it from use. Maybe only drive in socks to prevent scuffs? Better yet, just garage it to protect it so there can't be any risk. Just suggestions.

Trust me guys, this is not a garage queen. My cars get well used.

The car is getting PPF today but they weren’t sure they could put the film on the chrome piece for some reason. This is the top place in Spokane so it’s not from lack of knowledge.

I've just Googled 'can you PPF chrome' and every answer comes up yes you can.
