xDrive Technical Questions

Do the Xi/xDrive E9x cars have a open diffs in the front and rear? Could someone explain the differential/transfer case situation to me for these cars in detail or point me to a really great source.

Also, what parts of the diffs are electronically controlled and do they act in real time (partly mechanical) or are they reactive (entirely electronic and controlled in stages)?

Thanks so much for the help!

Nevermind, I answered my own question by reading on Wikipedia and found out that the front and rear differentials are in fact open and that the center differential is a electronically controlled mechanical limited slip.

Correct?

The center is a transfer clutch that adds power to the front as needed. Too bad the front and rear diffs are open with the brakes making a the action for a virtual LSD.
