Winter Tyre Choice for UK Roads?
Hey guys, the Michelin PSS I have on the car are as useful as a pair of sunglasses on a bloke with one ear when the temps get down to around 5c!
Do you have any experience running winter tyres on an M2?

I got the 'official' winter wheel/tyre set from BMW, comes with Michelin Pilot Alpin tyres and really makes the car usable during the colder winter months.

Same, have the Michelin Alpins (PA4 I think) and they make the car so usable and keep the car enjoyable all year round. I drove up a 'white over' high gradient single track road in the Peak district last Thursday without barely a spun wheel. They blow my mind every year!
I got my star marked tyres from camskill and bought Alutec wheels and it worked out less than half the price of buying from BMW. |

Might be worth asking on European or US sites, I agree but dont really bother to use much the its like this, especially Cup2's. I think most of us moan and side for a few days then forget in the UK

Alpins are good.
Nokians, contis, all great winter tyres. Have used them on previous cars on second wheel sets. Usually cheap replica wheels. And you can come right down on speed rating too. Personally i put the m2c away from nov- feb (cup2s on that) but I'm lucky to have other options to drive over winter. |
