lighter flywheel...
Has anyone bought an upgraded flywheel for your car? Do you think it is worth buying for a 335i? I haven't seen anyone go to the effort of getting one yet. I know Dinan sells their high priced Flywheel but I don't know anyone who has bought it yet. Comments...

A lighter flywheel will get the revs up quicker than stock. Not worth the money unless your changing out your clutch with a high performance one. Most good aftermarket clutches usually come as a package, clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing and flywheel.

I had lightened flywheels in both my Evos. They came as a package like i stated already. They were Excedy twin disc w/light weight flywheels. There is no need to waste your money on one as i stated again unless your making a whole lot more HP than your stock clutch can handle. And you dont want to go to light on the flywheel as it will actually hurt your hard launches for drag racing.Light weight flywheels really work best for road racing as the revs come up a lot faster as well as for downshifting.have no experience in them used in BMW cars though.

That Dinan flywheel is the most flagrant slap to the face I've ever seen. Those guys probably roll on the floor laughing every time some sucker pays them $2300 for an hour of machine work. Honestly, if you have any self respect at all, you will never buy that stupid flywheel.
Only a few hundred cheaper than a Lamborghini clutch+flywheel! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lambo...spagenameZWDVW 3-series... almost as nice as a Lambo, right? For what it's worth, you won't notice much of a difference. If you want the car to remain drivable, you'll need a relatively heavy flywheel. Which won't affect performance much. But then you get a super light flywheel to boost performance and you have to drive like you're racing whenever you get in the car. |
