Completely normal after disconnecting the batery. Just drive the car for few minutes it will go away.

Two warnings to consider when disconnecting the battery on an xdrive BMW:

1. DSC/AWD Malfunction
2. Increase Battery Discharge

Both of these are normal when you disconnect the battery. To alleviate the first problem, turn the engine on then turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, and then all the way to right. This will clear the first message right away.

The second message (increase battery discharge) will stay on after two or three cold starts. Always make sure that the battery terminal is secure tightly. After two or three starts, the message will eventually just disappear.

No need to get worked up. These symptoms are completely normal and will go away in no time.

I think its really great how everyone jumps in, helps out, and give good REAL support and advice:

"Completely normal after disconnecting the batery. Just drive the car for few minutes it will go away. "

" Yup - just drive away and the warnings will be gone in a few mins ... "
