Thanks for posting! The video further confirmed my decision in ordering a X7 M60i. Can’t wait for April 2023/May 2023 to roll around!

Nice video and pretty much has me convinced to keep my 2021. Nice video though, but I as well struggle with the refreshed front end still looking to funky 4 me. I always back into my garage so it will always be there mocking me while the garage is open.

I was really hoping to like the new X7 but the front end, silly vents and display have me saying no. I saw a new incoming X7 yesterday and pointed it out to my teenage daughters and they both said it’s the ugliest BMW they’ve seen and quickly said “possibly but you haven’t seen the iX”. It’s also amazing how many problems they are having with the new X7.

Great video, I like the this guy a lot.

Angelo1 - The iX comment cracks me up, lol, as a former iX owner. I think the front of the X7 LCI is at least somewhat more acceptable than the iX. To me, the iX is truly ugly (when u see the front). The X7 LCI IMO as you said might not be pretty, but at least it not as ugly as the iX though it can be seen ugly by many. The only reason I got the iX is because we needed an EV and we’ve never seen it in person before we ordered it; and we thought it will grow on us, at least for my wife, but it never did. Luckily it was replaced quickly by the X7 and we got a got trade in offer as the EV vehicles market had spiked at that time.

I certainly agree with his opinion of the front end design.

A little disappointed to hear his complaints about low end engine performance/ throttle mapping and a less responsive transmission. These are usually areas where bmw is best in class. I’m on the waiting list for an x5 m60i lci and imagine they will be very similar.

He says there is a massive lack of low down torque.

Is that normal for all the n63tu3 v8s eg m550i?

Besides the mention of M M M M M ..... I find it funny that Bibendum is riding in a Pirelli equipped vehicle.

Saw a base X7 LCI this morning… looks very… expensive. Didn’t think I’d like the look, but it’s actually quite elegant. I’d take this over a RR.

‘Former IX owner’….isn’t it like a year old?

Press vehicle?

iX delivery started first-2nd week of Dec 2021 in Germany (production started end of Nov 21). If you follow the iX threads on this website, there is a decent number of iX owners on this forum who got theirs delivered mid Dec 21 and posted there when they got theirs delivered including my wife. We were among the first to put in our order. I spend ~3 winter months in Germany and the rest in the US. We kept it for a few months only and then got a good trade it value when gas prices caused a spike in EV market/prices this year, and got another X7 for my wife. I never liked it; though am okay with EV and have a 530e, but never liked the interior of the iX or the front end design.

I love mine. It arrived in Sept but I took delivery in early Nov. You will not be disappointed.

I think he's exaggerating with "massive". My 22 m550i definitely feels more torquey down low but its a different engine tham my x7 m60i which is a detuned s68. I suspect a tune will fix the problem pretty easily on the x7 given that the motor is massively detuned in the m60i.

To me, this car is like a fitness model with an average face. At first glance, the front end makes your eyebrows furrow a little bit. But sometimes the girl with the prettiest face has nothing else to offer. I own an M60i and I have zero complaints on it's performance or it's idrive 8 system. Voice control works great. Apple car play works great. I have no issues with the climate control or the lack of physical buttons (I think that is the most overhyped complaint on these new BMWs - you barley need to touch the hvac controls as it is, so who gives a crap if you're touching a flat screen?). It is a luxurious vehicle with an incredible ride and plenty of room. It hauls ass when you need it to and from most angles, it's beautiful. I think the Range Rovers and Audis have better looking "faces", but would always choose this BMW over those rides.

I almost bought one of these, so I guess I like it. The panoramic screen is growing on me, although I still think it doesn't have an integrated look. Maybe theyll eventually add that 36 inch entertainment screen and rear passenger controls to make more like a 7 series. Hopefully they don't remove the adjustable ride height like was done to the X5.

I like Joe and it's a good video. The X7 is more for rich soccer moms and not a BMW enthusiast vehicle.

The irony is these full size luxo SUV's will blow the little sporty looking models off the road effortlessly all while sitting in heated massage chairs while rear entertainment screens play the movie "Frozen" with the rich sound playing through the Diamond B&W audio and ambient air scent filling the spacious cabin.

Seriously my X7M50i is faster than my last M2 Comp on the highway and would take it off the line almost every time. It is effortlessly fast and gobbles up miles all day long in more comfort than any other luxury vehicle I have owned. That big X7 will embarrass a lot of sporty performance cars without compromising its luxurious ride and that is what makes it so interesting. Anyone can make a little sporty sedan/coupe fast. Do that with a luxury apartment on wheels and you really have some engineering going on.

True story that many BMW enthusiast who only drives M-vehicle won’t understand/realize until they step into a fully loaded M50i , or an M60i when all options are available again, for a road-trip.

Last year I had my wife drive my X7M50i and I was driving my M2 Comp before I sold it and just with my wife mashing the X7 pedal would leap away from me at 70mph. It kept pulling from me at 100mph and thankfully she stopped accelerating at 100mph. No joke.

Ok, gotta chime in here as well.

The X7 M60i is for people who would like to get an M2, M3, or Cayman or name any other sports car, but who find find those sports cars are hard to get in and out of, are not really all that practical, and at the high end cost just as much if not more than the X7.

At my age, if I'm going to spend $100k+ on a vehicle it’s nice that it not only goes really fast, handles well, but it also seats 7 and has most of not all the lux features you’d ever need.
