OBD II code reader advice...

i have service on the 6th and need to delete an engine malfunction error (due to not installing jb2 correctly long time ago) so i ran to autozone and they had 3 different types $60, $100, and almost a $200 one. i asked the employee if they would work for a 2008 bmw 335i and he said "no" but i don't really believe him so i was wondering if anybody on here would know more or less if they would work.

the $60 one only had like 3 buttons and looked simple and it says it will read and erase codes.

the $100 one has 5 buttons and looks more high tech and will also erase codes.

which one should i buy? keep in mind i can't return it nor does autozone led them out anymore. thanks.

Do you still have the Ses light on? If not, don't even bother. These obd readers only clear the light, they don't clear the code from the vehicle memory.

Then don't sweat it. Just take your tune out and you should be fine.

i have the "$60 style" and it reads and erases codes perfectly. I used it on a scion tC and Jetta GLi recently to erase some. As for me, haven't gotten one in a while though! Not since the 02 sensor upgrade from Riss came in late semptember.
