335xi and Spacers
dose anyone know what size spacer i can put in the rear of my 335xi. what are the benefits, pros and cons? handling, corning, appearance. if i use spacer in the rear do i need to use them up front too. if the car goes to the dealer do they need to come off ahead of time?
fill me in, this is an area of the BMW i know NOTHING about. thanks. |

The only real benefit for having them would be appearance. The car appears much better with tires pushed out to almost match the fender line. As far as performance, unless you're are spending your weekends knocking off 1/10th of a second at a racetrack you won't feel any difference in the ride. Anything in the area of 5-10mm would not do anything to the car, but larger spacers could put strain onto your wheel bearings because the wheel center line is being taken away from the bearing.

Bingo, the main difference is appearance by pushing the wheels closer to the fender. With the factory wheels and suspension, most run 10mm all around or even at 10mm front and 15mm rear for a wider look. You will notice your factory wheels are inset from the fenders so spacers will push the wheels out and make them look flush.
If you are still confused, we can help package together the correct spacers for you with the necessary longer bolts so it's a direct install. |
