Wow...Congratulation. Very good selling price. As far as I know now, I can get brand new car with the same options for ~$1000 over your selling price.

Also, good luck to you with the coming 335i.

I noticed that my one "MOD" being the Schnitzer wheels were not accepted by a lot of potential buyers. Most wanted the stock rims and run-flats............I think several buyers walked away for that reason So I think a car with mods may be harder to sell?

Good luck

Absolutely. When you "personalize" your car, you are doing just that. By doing so, you limit potential buyers to those with similar tastes. In addition, the potential buyer must either be willing to pay more for the used car because of the cost of mods, or you must be willing to eat those costs as the seller.

That's not saying that no one should modify their cars, but do so with that knowledge. If you plan to sell or trade within a couple of years you may never get that money back. Looks like in your case you found the right buyer - congrats!

Potential buyers are also scared away from cars with mods because they reflect badly on the seller. Sterotypical thoughts come to mind, aggressive driver and such...

Very good point. That's why I've tried to stay with OEM as much as possible in terms of mods. Other then the springs and Koni's, the wheels, lights, future spoiler are all OEM mods. But even going that route, your comment still holds true, their will be people who will shy away.

What is the Market?

I had (have) mine for sale in the same area (Seattle) and actually had a prospective buyer who looked at both cars. Mine does not have the Premium, and is completely stock. It is also listed for less ($36k), and has a full set of RF winters on rims. It is Arctic, SP, 6 Sp. winter.

It really is hard to determine why people go one way instead of another in buying a car. The number of variables at play for selling a car is enormous. The car and its options, color etc. the condition, the availability of interested buyers, and their perception of the car. I like my car and if it doesn't sell, I won't be bothered.

I hate the way BMW markets new cars. Just like before 323 to 328 one year later. They get you to buy the cars (First Wave) then they stick a 12 Cyl in a 3er with 1000hp and shit its the new Hott thing so everyone looses like 3-7K on the first year of owning the car because you want to trade it on a 335i with turbos. and I have 23K miles on mine! SHIT! 335i here i come anywayz.

you have a point artz, unfortunately thats just the way its always gonne be. kinda like how tons of people will run out and buy a 335 coupe, and then exactly a year later the convertible will come out. Then a year later they will have something else.

haha I couldnt care less about the the 335i. I originally wanted a coupe but heard that a new model is coming out. I figured leasing would have end up costing me the same so I purchased it. I purchased mine for $41,200 OTD so it's not that bad. Anyway, I've always wanted a coupe so this is like fulfilling my dreams. haha Im actualling thinking about the 328i coupe though. The 335 is too much and I dont need all that extra HP.

Wow, you must really want a coupe to move to a 28 instead of keeping the 30.

It has almost the same time 0-60 and options as the 330i. I've been thinking about this though. If I could lease a 335 for around $550/month, I would def. go with the 335.

My understanding that the 328 coupe and the 330 sedan have the same engine, just configured slightly differently.
