Question what's the most boost/power/speed one can get out of 335i after mods?

Ive been away from being around the forums in a while.. someone update me andmaybe some others who care to know this.

Later on down, I'm thinkin of upgrading to 335i and keeping my bodykit for boost and modding.. (and to go broke lol). If not, i'll just wait it out a year or so to see how that new 555i looks.

So last i heard was vishnu v3 procede hitting 405hp/425tq at the wheel? is there any more power boost than this? if so then what is it? or whats the nice combination if budget was an issue and if money was no issue.

JB3 has become very popular lately. Has made some of the best numbers on pump gas on the dyno and best times on the track with tune alone. But the biggest numbers are still around 400WP, the highest around 420WHP or so.

PROcede v3.2 Rev.II dyno... (keep in mind, this is a "doomsday" map, aka, the tourque is dialed down to keep the warrantly flag from being tripped)

Thats a great dyno. Nice smooth power delivery. I love how far the tunes have come in the last year Hope the Tuners can pull a few more tricks out of their hats this year

Here is the BMS JB3 Dyno to compare with the one Rick posted of Shiv's car.

Race gas map
Riss Racing downpipes
Riss Racing catback
Code3 intercooler
BMS dual cone intake

Basically same mods except for the forged diverter valaves.

The other difference is that our tune was mapped to be MSD81/29.2 compliant. Hence the low (9-12psi) of boost in the low end/midrange.

But you can see why the trap speeds on our map are where they are. It makes 20-30whp more above 6000rpm, right where you want it in racing application.

Noob question,

422WRP is what at the crank? How do you multiply with number to find it?

im also very confused between getting the JB3 or the procede V3 .. but looking @ the dyno graphs can i say it looks like the JB3 seems to hit a higher HP and had more under the curve starting @ 3000RPM and on. Plus the added Tq would be nice for those off the line runs.

The jb3 dyno was not v81/29.2 compliant... STFT's would be way to high at those tq levels... it will work, but you will most likely trip the warranty code... so its kinda like comparing apples to oranges, its mapped differently based on the ECU its programmed for.

The extra touque is removed from the PROcede map on purpose, to keep it "compliant" with the latest ECU. They could easily bump that up to close to 450wtq as we have seen in the past.

It would be nice to get a non-doomsday (a pre-29.2) map dyno from vishnu to see their touque potential....

Just to add that dyno is on a auto 135i with a single exhaust which arguably can choke things down a bit, and the JB3 tends to be more conservative with top end boost taper. Still, I believe they hold the n54 MPH record at 120mph. Also a tune only customer ran 117mph with this map!

The current race gas map on the JB3 v1.2 is basically 400/400;RWHP/RWTQ

To answer one of the questions above, both the Proceded and JB3 dynos are HP/TQ at the wheels. I believe the multiplication is about 1.15 or so, so 425HP give you close to 500HP at the crank, which is the way BMW and all cars advertise their engine output.

Reducing back pressure is primary importance and has no relevance to being dual or single, so stating that single exhausts are a choke point on the 135i doesn't hold any water......as proven by any properly built high performance system such as on the current V6TT 2009 Nissan GTR Skyline.

Also as RiXst3r stated, the dyno run on that jb3 was not v81/29.2 compliant so has little relevance to anyone who wants to keep their warranty intact

So, you can keep your <50K warranty at the possible expense of coughing up a turbo bearing at 50+K mark. Hmm... I guess it comes down to how bad you want to go fast and how fast you want to go. I personally am not planning to set the world onfire with the n54.. so either of this melter maps are limited to reading about for me.

and no, I'm not a fanboy one way or the other. I only seek the truth when putting my trust in a tuner's product because I think it's paramount to the integrity of any tune.
