I've noticed my M4 takes a good 10 min before getting the oil up to operating temp. Compare this to my Macan Turbo which takes about 5. My normal route is ~5 min surface streets before hopping on the freeway.
It's winter here with temps in the 20s in the am, but the car is parked in an insulated garage which is usually 55-60 deg. I only have 900 miles on the car, so still running break in oils. Does this change once regular oil is running in the car?

10 minutes is about normal. The car has a lot of cooling and the oil in the sump/pan doesn't warm up as quickly as on other cars.

I’ve noticed mine could take up to 15 minutes. Long time for sure. Like mentioned, lots of oil, and quite a bit of plumbing for it to travel through.

It takes a long time for me as well - it's actually infuriating compared to my previous M4.
I hope in the summer it's going to be better

15 minutes on average for me. I live in New Hampshire and the car takes its time to warm up in the winter...

You bring up a good point…If you’re commute is short or you’re doing a lot of short trips you’ll want to have a couple of longer drives a week (with some good pulls) to allow the car to burn off any contaminants in the oil and also to help prevent any fuel desposit build up in the head too.
My commute is literally 5 minutes so I make sure to do these longer drives at least twice a week.

On my MY23 car, I'll sometimes use voice control to ask for oil temperature and it actually works! Weirdly, coolant temp isn't available.

I'll have to try this! I can set my Macan to show me the actual number on the dash, which I like.

10 minutes to warm temp. Low velocity driving at 30-35 mph in 2nd and 3rd gear. Ambient temp in NE Fl now is 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit.
