0-60 in 3.91 seconds with Launch Control and in slightly wet conditions. That's incredible!

It was actually quite wet, you could see almost standing water when he went off the line. Impressive.

So much has to be done through the display screen. Simply over complicating controls is not my cup of tea.

What a travesty. Do we seriously have to into the touch screen in order to adjust the distance for ACC? Why can’t we adjust that on the steering wheel? (I’m in the US)

So, I've had both a 2021 and now a 2023 X7. I will say in the 2021 I used to adjust the distance on the steering wheel as I approached oncoming traffic in the left lane by shortening the distance. This way ideally the driver ahead of me could see I was approaching and move over to the right...depending on state they either moved over or simply stayed in the left lane doing the speed limit and of course at that point I just accelerated and passed. Now with the 2023, as I approach a car in front of me if I want to get closer I just press on the gas pedal and adjust my distance in order to persuade the driver to change lanes. Once they move over I take my foot off the gas and the car resumes my original cruise control speed. I can't recall if the 2021 X7 allowed me to do this. I think it did, but I never used it since I could just adjust the distance manually. However, now I find that I prefer adjusting the distance by adjusting my speed while in cruise control mode. Also, if I find we're matching speed, then I don't see any reason I need to get any closer to the vehicle in front of me. I think the lack of buttons to make adjustments just had me change the way I drive. I got used to it pretty quick and don't really have any gripes about everything being on the screen. |

For the most part, the seat and steering wheel temps have been spot on when temps are in the low teens to upper 50s here in Colorado...I haven't had to manually adjust them yet. As for the other stuff like traction control and distance control, I just don't really see any need to adjust those while driving yet or ever now. Radio/Music control can all be done via the steering wheel. The only reason I touch the screen now is to select carplay and which map I want to see; apple maps or waze. |

There is no B&W offered in Europe though (at least right now). But, I see that the model car has the air freshener unit!!! is it only discontinued in the US? I know it is not offered in Germany or the UK either though. Last edited by BMW5and7; 01-18-2023 at 02:41 AM.. |

I cannot watch videos from these guys any longer. It’s like watching kids play with walkie-talkies for the first time.

I'm sick of car review channels that think everything evolves around 0-60 times.
I think most people already know what car they like, then look for positive reviews to bolster their own opinion. |

Absence of hard buttons is a big mistake, makes the car less luxurious because it’s less convenient. BMW is folding to the crooked ESG and WEF movement.

I'm new to BMW. Bought a 2023 X7 M60. Love the idrive 8. Don't care about buttons I'm missing (and really not missing). The vehicle is awesome on all levels. The only thing people are complaining about it missing that I think I would love to have is the comfort access on the back doors. Other than that, it's damn near perfect as far as large SUVs go.

I agree with you...we went from '21 M50 to a '23 M60 and that is one of my biggest complaints, they eliminated most of the useful buttons - now you have to hunt screens...oh well, gets a lot better gas mileage and does seem slightly quicker

Ok, on the LCI what are people digging around in on the screen/interface that is problematic…while driving…that was easier with buttons?
It just doesn’t seem that big of a deal and lots of other cars are moving this direction. Climate control - I do miss the a$$ and hand warmer button - if you’re not a fan of auto mode then this is an issue - I do find auto mode works much better now than pre-LCI…could just be an idrive 8 change and pre-LCI auto works the same ACC distance - no real need to adjust now since I can use throttle to close the distance - plus the closest setting is getting pretty close to tailgating…doesn’t leave much room/time to react Radio/music - steering wheel buttons work great…have always used these even in our pre-LCI X7 - we still have a volume knob too ESC - don’t think I’ve ever turned this off in any car |
