Did I read the power and torque of the XM label red right? Cause it’s supposed to have much more than 664 hp.

That colorway has an impressive level of ugly. I almost wonder if that’s the point… make it so ugly that people talk about it?

Interesting, first Bentley then Lamborgini and now BMW, if they want to race SUV’s then why don’t they go off-road?

Supposed to be ~735hp with the S68 ICE making 585hp. Still feels like a step back since the S63 made 625/617hp.

Forget about the color, that belt line positioning is terrible. It looks like the factory made a mistake putting it on. This is one of those things where BMW is changing something just to change. Doesn’t add anything aesthetically to the car by placing it where they did, and definitely doesn’t look improve the look.

Looks like they’ve quoted the power figures from the standard car. BMW M have already confirmed this will have around 750hp and 1000Nm.

If this colorway looked good we’d see a bunch of people making their current BMW’s window trim a bright contrasting color. We won’t.

BMWs design team needs to go hangout with the Mazda design team. Maybe they’ll chill out with all this overstylzed nonsense.

The dialed back power figure (compared to the S63) is due to efficiency measures. Unlike the S63 which powered the car all on its' own, the new S68 motor is assisted by an electric motor in this setup. The electric motor on its' own provides about 200hp which nets out to about 150hp when working in tandem with the ICE. (Both the ICE and electric motor in this hybrid setup are tuned to crank out 735hp combined) So there's no need to have the S68 engine put out more power than the S63 engine did. Sure BMW could have tuned the S68 to crank out more power than the S63 did but that would make it less efficient due to higher thermal loads and fuel consumption which would in turn make the whole hybrid setup unnecessarily less efficient.
