I think the only major change is the navigation / idrive system.

To my knowledge, changes included the new iDrive system, heated steering wheel, and shadowline trim on sport package models. Also, Logic 7 is no longer standard in the 335i.

As mentioned before,

1. New iDrive system (much better than the previous systems).
2. Heated Steering wheel included in the Cold Weather Package.
3. Logic7 sound system now an option only.
4. Sport Package includes Shadowline trim.
5. Prices have risen.

That's all I can think of from the top of my head.

The new iDrive is all the reason you need to buy an 09... unbelievable improvement to the old one.

more:
-silver trim added to cup holders and light switch
-power seats became standard
-XI model added the ugly XDrive on the side fender and only has i showing on the trunk

Few small things:

No cup warmer/cooler for center console.
No leather case in center console for iPod.
No flashlight for glove box?
No surround sound effect options with Logic7 option.

No, upon sensing an impact, the headrest moves forward closer to your head to prevent whiplash.

This has been criticism of BMW's during crash tests for some time now. This should give them a better frontal/rear crash safety rating -- provided people actually adjust them properly.
