How many miles do you have on your 335i or xi? Any problems so far?

Love my current E39 530i. I have almost 100K on it. At ~70K I had to replace a caliper, at 80K I had problems w/ the motor mount (that caused other problems), and had to replace the cam sensors a few times.

I now have a E90 335i on order.

How many miles do you have on your 335 twin turbo engine?

Any problems so far?

Thx

Garage List
I have had tons of things wrong with my car...here is the approximate list:

1) Rear Brake Pad wear sensor (went out twice)
2) Weird electrical/mechanical outage for oil temp guage (went out three times)
3) Long Start/Rough Idle - replaced high pressure fuel pump first time
4) Starter (replaced - maybe due to long start/crank issue)
5) Long Start/Rough Idle - replaced high pressure fuel pump SECOND time
6) Rear Brake pads replaced (12K miles?)
7) Long Start/Rough Idle - car would not start - replaced high pressure fuel pump THIRD time
8) Wastegate actuators replaced
9) Throwout bearing replaced
10) Long Start/Rough Idle - replaced high pressure fuel pump FOURTH time!!!!
11) Misfire/rough idle - after five trips to the dealership on this one - replaced all fuel injectors, fuel filter, all coilpacks, all spark plugs, and then cleaned excess carbon off head near the valves.

In total I bet my car has been in the dealership over 45 days of the 2 years of ownership.

I've had my 335xi for 12,500 miles and the only problem that I had was an oil leak in the chain tensioner (or something like that). The dealer fixed it in 1 day.

Apart from that the car has been solid

You're probably one in hundreds to receive such a poorly built 335i...
that sucks.

I only have 2500 miles on mine, picked up on 10/05/08. so far, no problem and I just did an oil change after I broke in at around 1300 miles.

Hopefully, my car will stay that way~

umm.. the OP is asking for ONLY 335i owners to respond, because of the fuel pump or other fuel pump related issues!..

08 with 7,800 miles~

Had to replace fuel pump and electronic setting resets time to time.

Other than that, no problem (shouldn't have).

16000 ish 335xi coupe. Been in for the first service... and about a month prior to that for a topoff on motor oil when the car asked for it. No problems (other than a few busted tires... don't get me started about the roads on LI.)

13,900 miles.

Right rear RFT, would not hold air and had to be replaced. I should have bought the insurance.

The "Exterior Bulb Out" icon comes on from time to time, yet all bulbs are working fine?

Awesome car.

My car has 2000 miles on it, and I've already had the following issues:

-iPod had an issue where it would disconnect from iDrive, but keep playing music. I took it to the dealer, and they swapped out the iPod cable, which fixed it for about 2 weeks. Then the issue returned, but instead the iPod would stay connected in the iDrive, but the sound would cut out. They are currently replacing the whole USB socket in the center console.

-Comfort access stopped working for unlocking doors. When I would turn on the car, it would say "Increased Battery Discharge", and the time and trip odo would reset. Turns out because of the bad USB socket, my iPod was charging even when the car was shut off, and was draining the battery.

-One of the wheel locks that were put in by the dealer on delivery was over-torqued, and got completely stuck. Dealer had to chissel off the wheel lock and put in a new one so that I could put on my snow tires.

-Passenger door panel had some rattles. Dealer put some insulation inside the door which seems to have resolved the issue.

-Heated steering wheel randomly does not work. When the issue happens, after I turn on the heat button, it shuts off after about 2 seconds. Hasn't happened in a few weeks so I haven't gotten it checked out yet.

With only 2000 miles on it, I hope this is not an indicator of an even longer list to come.

Other than a few other stuff (tire/wheel replacement), nothing else has gone wrong with the car. Lucky me

Your brake pad issues are probably due to the spirited driving I'm guessing you enjoy judging from the track picture in your signature. It's possible the other issues may be related to track use too?
