Best indoor cover can be found at http://www.griotsgarage.com.

Their flannel cover has a bit of quilted padding in it to protect from the kids bike handles, bumps and bangs. Car cover in the garage? With kids... yep.

yes... is that so hard to imagine... I kept my F car under cover, in the garage, because dust is everywhere, and just leaving it in the garage without ever opening the doors seems to deposit a nice layer of dust within 24 hours. So if you won't want to constantly be sweeping the car, it's nice to cover it right after a detail.

Thanks for the heads up on Griots.

FYI, you're destroying your paint correction by putting a car cover on the car. I've never seen a car cover that doesn't scratch paint. I've seen covers built for Lambos, F-cars, Porsches, and not one of them didn't scratch. While not causing RIDS (Random Intense Deep Scratches), car covers put tiny scratches all over the paint. If you're that concerned about dust, have the car properly waxed and then buy a water deionizer to give the car a simple rinse whenever you feel the car is too dusty.

Both my M3 and M5 sit outside in a car port 24/7, and while they get dusty, you'll never see any scratches on them. That I can live with.

thats weird, my detailer told me to get a cover to keep the dust from settling in the wax or some crap...
he'll wax it when it comes out then i guess....i dunno, there are so many contradictory things about this type of stuff...supposedly everything can scratch ur car...haha

Car covers do two things:

1. They rub existing dust into the clear coat when your putting them on and taking them off.
2. Their fibers scratch the clear all on their own, even without dust present.

But yes, there are a lot of contradictory thoughts about car covers.

I was thinking about a cheap 'dust cover', but need to think it over, but need your opinion on 'California Duster'. My 2 choices are use a California Duster to remove dust or buy a dust cover; which one sratches less? By the way, I'm the only person in my garage, so no need for a cover other than dust protection. Hey, what the heck is a 'water deoinizer'? Thx man.

i got the cali duster with my cover...i dunno, phone selling got me...then my detailer yelled at me and said those are garbage and will scratch the paint....same guy who was pushing the cover, ironically.

i called calcover to remove the duster from the order and emailed them, both were confirmed. however, the duster still came with the order and i was still charged.
so i have it and have yet to use it.
