E92 Owners.. underseat air vents

Hi,

Have a coin or something that's fallen into the underseat air vents, really annoying!!

Any ideas how to get it out? Or how to remove the air vents without taking the driver's seat out?

Thanks!!

Haha, nah, non-ferrous coin.

I have tried a pen with sticky tape on the end...

I think I'm going to have to pull the vent out.

Sure I'm not the first to need to do this!

From the looks of the diagram, the duct itself ain't comin' out easily!

If not the seat you'd probably need to pull the center console.

I would try taping your vacuum hose to the end of the outlet for as tight a seal as possible first.

Good luck!

I had a coin that fell into the vent duct (#17 from above picture). Very annoying, indeed.

I put the pedal to the metal in 1st gear and then came to a full stop very slowly. This pushed the coin towards the opening of the duct and I was able to use a small stick to fish it out.

Good luck!

+1

That sounds like WAY more fun than duct tape, especially in an M3!

Well now that they mentioned the above....just go in reverse at about 10mph and slam on the brakes. Maybe it'll shoot right out?

I dropped a pill container down the middle of the center console when the rubber mat was out,

Took off pretty much all of the center trim (where the iDrice wheel and shifter boot is located) to get it back,

Did that actually the first week of having the car, Made me remember not to drop anything in my car again
