Thumbs down CRAP: 7 speed DCT not available with M Sport package

Just discovered this in the EU configurator. Obviously BMW is making sure 335i doesnt get too close to M3

do you mean too close in terms of looks? The M Sport Package only includes cosmetic changes, it doesn't have any effects on the performance of the 335i.

that makes NO SENSE because you can get a 335i with DCT in Europe which also sells the M3. Obviously that is not the case as you contend then

Laos from experience i can tell you people buying an M3 (not thinking about buying one) dont really care about a 335i that much. The cars are so different. I sell BMW's and have been for over 4 years and this has always been the case. People who look at M3's might be that way but the people who actually BUY the M3 (not just looking) usually never even talk about the 335i. People who have a 335i usually want ot talk about the M3 which is the oppsoite of the M3 people that shop. The M3 is VERY different than the 335i in every respect not just the acceleration/tranny. I am not sure if everyone here has an idea how much different they really are. I have driven manu miles i both cars. I also have driven the both back to back at training on the Track and the road. The difference is a lot more than most anyone can ever imagine. Is it worth the extra money of a 335? That is for you to figure out. The same can be said to is the 3 series coupe worth 5-6k more than the 135 with the same equipment?

ALPINE6SPD, you probably misunderstood. I actually agree with you because I know the M3 is totally different.
Thats why I thought it was weird you cannot get M bodykit with DCT, thats all

Interesting.
My source was german configurator. It knocked off M Package when I selected DCT... probably just a programming mistake.
Anyway, I am happy that one can combine these two. Thanks for the info.

I tried it on the Norwegian configurator, and it did the same thing, weird.

But as the two threads show, you can get m-sport package ans DCT.

The order is:
choose a manual 335i
then choose the m-packet
then choose the option steering wheel with paddles

and viola - you have your combination m-packet with dct
