Wheel spacers Question… actually a concern

How long have you had them? Can you share few pics of them in your X7?
I just installed mine and the OD of these after market wheel spacers is about 1/4” on each side smaller than the wheel hub and rotor (or about half inch less OD smaller…Shouldn’t they be bigger to flush with the wheel hub ? My pics below
(I added the same to my Tesla model X and been OK for 3 yrs hard acceleration… no problem but they are flushed to the wheel hub… unlike these)

Any spacers I had were not smaller in diameter than the wheel hub like that. I don't like non-reputable brands after a bad experience once and usually just get Turner/ECS or H&R.

Waiting to hear from factory of spacer manufacturer?

Interesting article read recently on tech impact of spacers. I don't go more than 10-12mm, this mostly pertains to major changes.

When I had wheel custom made for my G63 they screwed up and didn't make them with the right offset, they offered me a huge discount if I would run them on spacers and I refused, I am not a fan of spacers for many reasons.

Yeah I was afraid to read it when they posted the article as most of my cars usually have spacers, assumed most of the bad stuff was going to be about huge spacers some trucks & jeeps run, which even I know thats not good for any vehicle.

Yeah, no intention of putting 2" spacers on my X7!
But still good to know why you shouldn't!

Randomly thinking about this more and thinking that if you bought the 22s when you built the vehicle, and then wanted to square it up and put on 285s all the way around, that you would for sure want to put spacers on the back to account for the difference between the 315 width to the now 285 width. That would mean needing 30mm spacers to make the engineered suspension work the way it was intended? Does BMW adjust the suspension differently when 315s are on the back vs 285s? If so, you'd want to put spacers on for sure, right?

Just wondering as at some point when my first set of tires starts to go I may be tempted to square up with some all seasons.

I’m pretty sure the offfset of the 21 vs the 22 wheel is different to account for the 22 wheel which is wider. I’ve got both 21 and 22 BMW wheels and the rears for each when mounted are spaced the same.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks. But I still wonder about squaring up with 285s on existing wheels. Seems like you'd want to add spacers in that scenario.
