I like the concept. The only concern I would have is with the valve closed I'd assume exhaust back pressure would increase significantly on a turbo car like the 335. Put a tune into the mix with high octane and you have a recipe for disaster.

Apexi has had this for the last 10 years
Eventually I remember people burning holes in their piping. It was weird

I really wonder how long the valve will work properly with all the moist and heat changes in the exhaust. Also what will hapens with back pressure and ECU when the system can flow freely or is limited.

Kreis-seig makes an exhaust that uses this technology for the e46 M3. They call it valvetronic.

We do have the system ready to ship for the 335i. I will post some pics from under the car. Here is a picture of the E9x M3 System. And no it has nothing to do with all the systems you posted before. Our system is is fully controlled by a ECU and uses the canbus signal from OEM ECU.
The 335i System is straight through and gives the best amount of bhp. You can choose the tips by your self and you can choose the size of piping if you like from 2.5" to 4". We also do have those systems for 330i and 325i. |

Here is a picture of the 335i System. As you can see if you push the button it goes straight through. You can imagine that there is less less backpressure. And when you close the valves the car is quiet and comfortable.
