bmw extended warranty experiences

So i got a quote from Christine who is fantastic for an extended warranty. Her warranty is from bmw directly and the thing i am worried about is that the EXCLUSIONS section is longer than the included section lol.

Anyone have any experience using their extended warranty or any issues denied?
Can i take my truck to a non bmw shop for repairs?
Anyone ever buy an extended warranty through a bmw dealership and get ripped off or denied claims with other bmw models?

I also went to the dealership near my house and they recommended another warranty company that they use. It is directly through the dealership but not sure whether they will give me a hard time when the time comes for repairs. I dont remember the name. It is a few about the same price if not a few hundred dollars cheaper with a 50 dollar deductible, but they said they never had any issues which is what they will always say.

NEED SOME ADVICE based on experience using these claims. I have read over and over from many sites that extended warranties are a waste of money but i just had my seat warmer repaired, along with service call malfunction and that alone was $1300. Need this truck to last me four years without killing the bank besides basic maintenance.

Thanks in advance

You need an all inclusive policy with no exclusions except for wear, tear, and maintenance. I would not recommend that one, get a factory direct one or one through CNA or Fidelity— otherwise I’d say save that money for the repairs as they come.

So platinum is the one that they told me covers everything beside maintenance but thats not the case when you read the fine print.

Fidelity and the other companies refuse to cover a M. I tried calling and they are not covering them at the moment. I went through 4 companies and all of their exclusions in fine print is very wordy and lengthy.

If I were to choose I would go with BMW warranty vs 3rd party. The dealer probably gets a good commission pushing that 3rd party one.

I like to self insure myself because have an honest Indy shop that charges actual labor hours and not the inflated book hours.

Don’t buy any third party warranty. They will find ways to decline your claim. Dealers get more commission for selling third party claim. I would go for the platinum from bmw.

Agreed, put some $$s aside each month and build a savings for car "stuff"...

Bought a platinum extended warranty this past week. I went in for servicing yesterday and all the advisor did was bash the Bmw warranty. He said third party is so much better and how they get them to cover every claim. He continued to say I should cancel it asap and buy it from them. Never had someone try so hard to sell me something so I just played stupid and said yeah I will cancel it. This guy was a tool.

yeah that stealership is a POS. They get fat commission from the 3rd party warranty and I'll bet you my first unborn son that they will deny a ton of claims through their 3rd party.

Definitely go to another shop.
