2023 XM arrives at BMW Columbia. Can’t wait to test drive. Got a sneak peek last night. Small trunk with no spare? No roof rails for a roof rack. No carbon fiber roof (maybe only for Red Label) Pretty wide stance, but shorter and not as tall as X7. There are working through some error codes before test drive. New car woes I guess.

This looks great in MBB. My local dealer had a white one last week. They look great in person.

Sadly these will be out of reach for many of us. I may be in the minority but I’m hoping the styling of the XM will be adopted to the X5 for next gen. Heres hoping.

Everything but the Hyundai head lights, off-road truck wheels and iDrive 8 is pretty good lookin. Haha

Also wouldn’t start comparing size to an X7. Of course it’s smaller. It’s on par with the x5. And even then it has a smaller cargo area in height.

I like the black inlay on the sides, not to sure about the horizontal kidney grills, not a big fan of the wheels , I like the size of them but not to much the look. But love what can be done with the pano roof . The red design on the inside is very cool . What engine does this come equipped with ?

Well, I guess the seats look good. WTF are the BMW "stickers" in the rear window...trying way too hard. Good thing for my bank account this thing does nothing for me. Oh well, diff strokes...

Not stickers, they’re almost etched in the glass but doesn’t remove the fact that it’s terrible placement and doesn’t do the car any benefit other than scream “BMW”.

IMO it's more in between

The XM is 7" longer overall with a 5" longer wheelbase compared to the X5. That's pretty substantial. Height are about the same though.

The X7 overall length is 3" or so longer than the XM, but they have the same wheelbase. X7 about 2-3 inches taller.

They are all about the same width. Cargo/passenger capacity wise, yes the X5 and XM are probably similar

Over time the design will evolve more and really be amazing. It’s truely close... Like the early Chris Bangle designs did…

so I've driven this thing and it sucks.

such a stiff ride on them 23s. it's huge yet impractical with a tiny boot.

the interior is not worth the price tag whatsoever. a lot of cheap plastics in not-so-hidden areas.

get an X5 M. or, if you really want a PHEV V8, wait for the M5.

Looks great in MBB and the gloss black (instead of gold) accents. However, all that gloss black will be a nightmare to maintain. Better get the whole thing PPF’d.

The XM actually drives way smoother than my 23 M5c, even with the 23's.

They should have worked out the “error codes” with the designers on that lump. Sorry I just can’t like that thing.

Color is great! I said something nice and now I feel much better.

This model should havd literally remained a concept to demonstrate and introduce new tech. Wtf happen to that stage of automotive design? Concept car.... Anyone remember that shit?

Feeling like I skipped some memo about doing acid in elevators, and discovering that childrens drawings must serve better purpose in our life. Clapped out designers seeking kids doodles that get viewed as radical designs by someone with too much money. Omg process so oraganic

The fuhhk 🫥.
