2023 Oil Filter Cap / Torx size -Help

2023 M550. 1500 miles. Doing the first oil change on it. Before everyone gives me grief I don't subscribe to the 10 thousand mile interval and won't be following it. With that said here is my issue.

Below is a picture of the cap. Does anyone know what size the Torx bit on this is? I've measured the outside hex with calipers and it measures 36mm. The Torx bit in the center measures about 9.5mm at its widest point. I currently don't have either and curious if anyone knows what size Torx bit is needed here.

Second question, both access doors are missing. The screw on 3 tab you would expect over the drain plug, and the swing open door over the filter. Can anyone else confirm that they should or should not be there on a brand new BMW.

For a brand-new BMW, I'd think the swing door things should be there. Not sure how important the doors are though.

Huh. I didn't know that they changed it. I have the 36mm socket or something ridiculously huge like that for the older caps.

Good for you, doing the "break-in" early oil service!

Just FYI, I keep a lump of old fashioned modeling clay like you used as a kid in my tool drawer for situations like this. I press it into the area I need to know the size of so I have a perfect mold and talk it to the tool store and match it.

Performed the exact same oil service on my 2020 550 at 1400 miles. Will be changing the oil sooner than recommended by the maintenance minder.

Correct or not, I will be doing the old school 3000 mile interval.

I hold on to cars extremely long term. While I'm sure 10k is fine for the duration of a warranty period. I'm more concerned with the last 12 years of the 15 that I'll probably have this one. Besides I've never heard of an engine going bad changing the oil too often.
