M Mode Setup Question

Does anyone know if there is way to set it so the M Mode screen- Speed, RPMs...M Mode will automatically come up when I press M mode 1 or 2 Buttons?

OR do i have to press the M Mode button to change the screen? Thanks in advance.

On my 2021 X4MC, you can program M1 or M2 to switch to the other HUD. On my 2022 X4MC, I have to hit the M-Mode button on the center console to switch the HUD. If it is possible to program in a LCI through I-drive by default without third party programming, BMW did a great job of hiding it.

On my 2020, there is an option when you program your M1/M2 buttons on which HUD to show. If I remember correctly, you can show the minimal one, the standard one, or the M display. Also, if I remember correctly, you can set those display options as default so it always shows the full M HUD if you wish. Maybe its different with the later iDrive.

There have been multiple threads about this. I started one a while ago, asking the same question, and I think this maybe the second or third time I have referenced it since.

The short answer is "no." It can't be done on the LCI models. Definitely a backward step in my opinion. It was great in both of my M3s to be able to choose what display you wanted with the M buttons.

James.

This is one of my only gripes with the car. It makes no sense that you cant activate the M Mode with either M1 or M2 buttons. I rarely even use it since I have to look down and find it to activate.
