Unthinkable

I did the unthinkable and ran my car out of gas. Now i have thrown the Service Engine Soon code! Does anyone know how to clear the code? Or how much it would cost to get it cleared. thanks

It will go away by itself after some driving. Nothing to worry about

... I did that on the track... after filling with gas and a few restarts later the SES light did go away on its own.

It's toast. Just leave the key in it and walk away. Someone will be along short to take care of it.

Oh Shit, you're in Italy. Nevermind........

Those gauges reach 0 with more than a gallon still in the tank. Its not uncommon for people to make it 50+ freeway miles after it has already hit 0.

Also Top Gear has shown this several times on newer cars such as their 1000+ mile 2 day, 1 tank journey in the Audi.

Based on my experience, my car seems to have approx 1 gallon left at "0" miles to empty.

I also have an '08 Tundra that has a 26 gallon tank. It shows "0" miles to empty and still has over 5 gallons left! Nearly a 20 percent reserve. The regulars on the Tundra forum rip anyone who complains about it. Rediculous, IMO. 1-2 gals. is plenty.
