I just installed my AE exhaust last week and am still trying to get to the bottom of the same issue. I did the whole felt and tennis balls trick, but it didn't completely stop the rattling. Thus, I removed the whole sliding compartment door altogether, which definitely helped, but still didn't 100% do the job. I'm starting to think the rear ashtray is rattling too. Who knows? It's driving me insane though

i actually got really mad at it, whille i was driving, so i ripped the cover right off lol. I figured out it was that stupid plastic sliding cover so i took it out. I dont suggest you doing that, but im completely rattle free in the back

I have CPE and the MF towel shoved into the rear console worked...I removed the rear ashtray and leave the tray open at all times...The front ashtray is also removed and closed...No rattle or buzzing whatsover after those things were done...I get a rattle once in a while, but thats because I forgot to completely close the console lid for the armrest!

Mine rattles too like crazy and did that even with stock exhaust. After the Bastuck quad i hear it much more but i found out that leaving it open quitens than the rattling a lot. Would be nice to see some pictures of people that fix that annoying rattling... jeez its a bimmer, should not be rattling like a fiat.

Mine rattled since the day I bought the car and only got worse when I installed an exhaust so I just removed the lid... problem solved.

Absolutely. Once you uninstall it you'll realize it's just a plastic piece that slides in and out of the compartment.

I have an active autowerkes exhaust and I have the same problem. I've got 2 tennis balls back there and a T shirt stuffed the slide tray. Its fine most the time but sometimes when its cold out it will resonate a bit still. I should probably just uninstall it but I'm far too lazy lol

Where does this happen on the E92? I only have mid-pipes that are stock now. Everything else is different. I have very little rattling.
