Trying to decide between these two before my build gets locked. Getting the M sport pro pkg and 22 in black rims. I'm usually more of a silver on black guy (my M235 is glacier silver) but MW and skyscraper seem like the closest options. I've ruled out AW and BG as I find those too flat for my taste, and DG is a bit too dark for me. Any thoughts/pics on MW or skyscraper in an X7 or similar model? First time posting, thanks for the feedback!

I would go with skyscrapers grey since its less noticeable when the car is dirty. You have more upkeep with white.

Have you seen skyscrapers grey on a real car? I had exact the same question but chose Mineral White after visiting dealership to look at skyscrapers grey...and it is not so good in real as on pictures.

skyscrapers grey too dark and i guess that it will be more noticeable than white. Dirt is more light than dark grey

We debated a ton on Mineral White v Alpine White and leaned towards AW. We felt like MW was not a color that popped a ton. Some of the metallic whites really glitter in the sunshine and we didn't see it in the BMW MW. So that would lean me towards Skyscraper Grey, especially since it's a relatively "new" color

Yeah unfortunately the only days I've been able to go in it's been cloudy so the skyscraper looked darker grey; also wasn't able to see it on an X7

Skyscraper is lighter than Dravit. This is a pic of my skyscraper when I took delivery last year.

We have a 21 in MW and like it much better than AW. AW looked softer with a slight yellowish tinge. The metallic on MW is nice. We’ve historically been silver car people and BMW doesn’t currently offer one that is light enough for our tastes.

I disagree with the comments that say MW will show dirt more. My wife has a MW X5 and it's pretty resilient to dirt. The only thing is when a coat of dust settles on it the color loses its pearlescent lustre and looks like flat white. It's one of those metallic colors that barely looks metallic.
White as a color on a SUV can look more feminine. (My wife doesn't love white, but it was the only X5 color she'd tolerate... everything else was blue/dark gray/black). The SG will look a bit more aggressive/modern. I tend to think the colors that have more metallic in them will better accentuate the lines vs. the flatter ones.

I liked Skyscraper on pictures but on a real car ...no. Skyscraper not so much metallic like MW and I don't like Skyscraper paint pattern.

We liked the look of skyscraper with the black. We had no intention of getting the M packages though seeing that combo convinced us. Attached are a couple of pics. The one from the back sort of shows how the color seems to change when it’s well lit vs in shadow.

Does your dealer have any other cars in skyscraper (or another dealer near bye)? It was our initial selection, though we went to a few dealers to see other color options- often on different cars.

Both colors will look sharp.

I don't think you can go wrong with either color. I think black wheels and M sport package with all the shadow line stuff looks best with those two colors. It's the only time I like black wheels. On skyscraper or mineral white. Not that my opinion on that matters.... but i've seen builds that look awesome in both those color options.

Thanks for all the feedback. I don't think we can really go wrong here, but we're locking in MW for more of the contrast look.

I’ve had both. Had mineral white 2019 for almost 4 years and have had skyscraper gray for 4 months. Drumroll please……the mineral white looks cleaner longer than the skyscraper gray. Mic drop.

I loved both colors, but I feel at least in my area, people are leaving white and going for the medium grays. It’s the new it color…I see it so much more on the street and most of my friends who used to have white SUVs have traded for gray. I love the skyscraper hue and have zero regret. Especially with black trim.
