Talking JB3 1.21 Dyno

Took my car today to AWD motorsports to dyno it and came out dissapointed...

NOT!

My car is a 08' 6MT 335i

Mods: JB3 1.21, BMS DCI

octane: 93

conditions: 82 degrees and 28% humidity.

Run 1 is my car stock
Run 2 is on map 1 (low boost)
Run 3 is map 4 (high boost with lagfix)
Run 6 is map 6
Run 7 is map 6

Great dyno, cohen4...congrats. Now it's time for you to head up to PBIR to make some runs.

360-368 rwhp on Map 5 or 6 looks right on for 93 Octane and DCI on a 6MT car.

Good numbers. Now pick a map to run and let it fully adapt. Then dyno again and see how it does. You should see a difference in numbers.

We did let each map adapt. my buddy works at AWD so we spent around 4 hours today just dynoing and driving around letting the car adapt. i dynoed it 22 times with about 4 runs to each map

Good thinking then Do you have the graph for the later dyno runs. Say, 20,21 and 22?

Not with me. They are at the shop but pull 21 was 357rwhp so we let the car cool down for 10 min then ran it again and got 363rwhp (the last run).

those are hot numbers with just two mods.. I'm on the fence for which DCI to get but it looks like the JB3 map 6 really responds well with it.

I wonder why we don't see the noted throttle closure from previous posted dynos @ aroud 89-90mph? I need to go look back at the mod list to see if the others where running a DCI and what kind of fans were used.

Do you have the dyno graphs for map 5? I would like to see it compared with the map 6 to see if the lagfix maps gives different results or not.

It shouldn't.
He stated the Map 5 runs were 359 rwhp.
That's within 2 rwhp of the Map 6 run that was first listed and within 8 of the other map 6 run.

You will easily get that much variation in results between runs even on the same map.
It could easily be just a bit more heat soak during the map 5 runs, or since map 6 is the same as map 5 but with lagfix the map 6 results were a bit higher as the car had a bit more time to adapt to the map 5/6 high boost.
They could of just as easily started with map 6 and got the 359 rwhp then switched to map 5 and got the 361 and 367 rwhp results.

Nice, 22 pulls on the same day.

The funny thing is I was just about to arrange a day where I was going to do 2-3 pulls on stock, low boost, high altitude, map 4 and map 6 for comparison purposes myself.
You pretty much did it for me, but I don't run DCI however, or am on 93 Octane.
so maybe I'll still do it on an otherwise stock car on 91 Octane and with a 6AT.

Are you insinuating that the numbers will be lower? Higher? After "letting it adapt"...

Yeah, I'm in LA.
Search my username, I've set up dyno days and dynoed mine and other 335i's many times.
If I do it again, it would be relatively soon. But to be honest, I haven't really done anything new to my car since the last dyno.
The only difference is going from JB3 1.0 to 1.2
I could let you know if I go again.

Interesting... no dips? Anyone care to comment on throttle closure? No flame war, just a note.

We must have just missed each other as I was there and did a Dyno on my car at 12:00pm...

Can you tell us what Progman Version you are running?

Did you ever Dyno without the DCI? That is the only difference in our cars.

Thanks
