Why no regional sub forums like in the 3 series section?
Hey guys,
After a long break from bmw I’ve put a deposit down on a X3 M40i. Very much looking forward to picking it up. I came on here instantly to reconnect with the bmw community but also to find fellow brits and speak about what I can upgrade and where from and maybe look at any market place items like there was in the 3 series section. However it doesn’t exist in this area of bimmer post and I wondered why and whether we could get a UK sub folder? Not saying I don’t love the world wide experience but at times you want to talk about areas within your country / region such as dealers or places to go for after market stuff which coming on again in this area feels quite hard to do unless you put UK in your topic. What does everyone else think? |

No avi66 means that it’s been discussed many times why there’s no regional section on the x3/x4 pages, search that. Consensus always seems to be that posters don’t want it.

I was "shot down" a couple of times in the past when I suggested a forum distinction between USA owners their cars and European owners their cars. I brought up the differences in options, warranties, production times, etc etc......
But was "shot down" IMHO there still needs to be a distinction. |

Yeh I’d be in favour, is there a mod who we could speak to about at least trailing it and seeing how much each sub forum gets in terms of traction / topics and if nothing after 2 months delete them and go back to 1 again?

Once again this kind of topic...
I the end, G01's are still the same everywhere. Minor differences. If splitting to regions, information splits in too many subforums. Makes even harder to find anything. Also even now there are tons of users who dont use/know how to use search. Just add "US/UK/your territory here" in topic subject field if you need specific info.

But I find it even harder now to find things, I went looking in market place and every time I looked it was all usa based. It feels like a huge gap missed. At least do USA and rest of the world given how big the states is.

Also to add it’s not about the G01 itself it’s about a community and finding local / regional topics or discussion points not just “can I code this on a g01”
Another example I spent a good 20 mins trying to find how to get carplay added and all I came up with was topics in the US to US companies doing it so I’m still none the wiser as to who can do it in the UK / Europe and have recommendations |

kinda related question, but is there a reason why this board doesn't have subtopics like engine, suspension, audio, tuning, etc? It would make it so much easier for focused discussions, rather than seeing the same threads repeating many times (I've been guilty of that).
