The Best Thing About The New 1er....

....is that it doesn't have that the same HIDEOUS hood/front quarterpanel/A-pillar/door panel intersection that the 3er does.

The best thing about the 1er is that it exists, at all. Long live BMW!

You've got me there.

Okay, the whole 3er hood/door/pillar/q-panel thingy is a close second-best-thing in my book.

I'm a fairly anal BMW owner and I've never noticed that on my E90. The gaps certainly are not that noticable, but mine is also a dark color. Of course they way it all comes together is beyond anyones control.

I was considering an E90 328i before deciding to wait for the 1er, and I noticed it the first time I went to get in the driver's seat. It's not so much the gaps that got my attention, but the lack of........eh, I guess "continuity" is the only word I can think of. It just looks like a bunch of lines that sort of end in a jumbled mess.

It was not even close to being a deal breaker for me, and if I'd bought the E90 I probably would've never given it a second thought. But I got a good laugh when I later read the E90 325i review on TheTruthAboutCars.com and they mentioned it (that's where the pic came from).

Dude, PLEASE accept my apologies in advance if you start looking at it every time you get in your car now that I've mentioned it!
