Is anybody considering the wood trim

There are only two trims right? Wood and Aluminum-trim correct?

I'm a big fan of the aluminum look but one of the early shots with the wood looked quite nice.

Which are you getting?

UK brochure had 6 trims... but I like the burr walnut trim or black trim. I guess it really depends on the interior color. It's been 10 years or so since I had a black car, so it might be time for a all black one....

Smart man. For some reason, I haven't ever been a big fan of the wood. To me, it's just something else they can charge you for.

I have the metal trim in my e90 and it is soft. I have all these dents on the door trim piece from the buckle hitting it. I will have to be careful with my next car tho

Monaco / Terra / Poplar wood for me
It will be small but classy and I have never had wood on a car.
I just think it will warm up the lesser cabin and make it look more upscale

Whoever said it was wrong to put wood trim in a $35,000 car?

My father has always had lexus's, and the wood in those cars seemed to fit well, but I can't see it in a sports car. I think it "could" be done in a 335i, because of it's grand touring physique, but definately not in the 1er...

I will say with the right color combinations, it's *possible* that the black wood could look decent...

I like the dark gray poplar wood. For those thinking of the gloss black trim, you're going to spend a lot of time cleaning hand/fingerprints. Aluminum and wood conceal those.

I really like the look of the Dark Poplar with the Red Leather. Doubt I'd ever go for the brown wood in this type of car. From an E92:

No worries dude, I fully intend on letting any passengers know that if they touch the trim with a finger, they'll go home with a nub

Never in a sporty BMW.

E36 M3 sux package = no thanks.

Wood trim works in high luxury cars, or I can see it in say a British supercar. Something along those lines.

might look at the dark grey poplar....

I like the aluminum as well, but it is very contrasty with the dark interiors...but i doubt I would pay extra for it.

nothing like cloth and wood!

I have wood trim in my 328i. I like the look, but it depends on the rest. Wood says luxury to me. Aluminum says performance. Piano black is a nice mid-point, but it depends on the color scheme.

If I had to choose spur of the moment, I'd probably go with aluminum, but it would be a difficult choice.

I agree with you spud. I mean I drive a sports car now with brushed aluminum trim. This is going to be my first BMW.(granted the parents had 3) I'm thinking I wouldnt mind having a nice wood trim. Although that Terra Boston with aluminum would look HOT!! I wouldnt mind being the guy with the really nice 1 series, thats also fast as hell. I'm still drawn. I guess I'll have to see it in person.

I love the look of brushed aluminum. I have a little of it in my jetta but nothing like it will be in the 1er. I pushed my dad to get it in his E90 but he wanted the wood. O well, Methinks Montego blue with black boston and aluminum will be HOTTT

I am torn between aluminum and poplar grey. I like the poplar, but I don't know how it will look with the Terra leather. If the price goes too high, I'll stick with black leatherette and poplar trim coated in Alpine White. If the price is right, its Montego over terra methinks. Of course I will change my mind twice before I even submit this post so before ordering the car I will have considered every color trim and paint at least twice.

Wood is nice, but a little to luxurious for me. I prefer aluminum...
