anyone know whats changed? Just got it today when the dealer performed my turn signal recall.
the font has changed for the dash, its clearer to read now. did not have time to really dig around and see if anything else has changed. and of course no release notes

i was told yesterday by SA that anyone with a flat/curved screen will get 8.5 update. He said that they had a recent "training/workshop" by BMW where they learnt that.

This has been beaten to death. Lots of threads on it. The consensus is that X7s built before April of this year will not be able to get the upgrade. No matter what the dumb dealers are telling everyone. The head unit in the 2023s and early 2024s can't support 8.5.

Or course, some are still holding out hope that the information we've been receiving from the experts is wrong... I for one don't really care one way or the other.

dont think its 8.5 that i got yesterday, i dont have the climate quick select. only difference so far is the font for the main and central screens has changed, larger and easier to read. havent really dug into any other changes yet.

did you get the buttons next to the temp adjustment for heated/cooled seat activation... this is one 8.5 UI feature that would be incredibly easy for them to bring to 8

no, i really wish they port that over. maybe in the november OTA.
i suspect 07/2023.33 will go out OTA next month.
the rest of the changes i don't care about since I'm in android auto 99% of the time.

Does this update get automatically rolled out? I got my 2024 in June and still haven’t received any notifications about it…

For the 2024s i believe that this will be the 8.5 ota, due in September.
Ota releases are 3 times a year and lag by 2 months or so

So for example 03/2023.xx came out over ota in may. 07/2023.xx is due september and 11/2023.xx is due jan 2024

Looks like it was some hardware changes after 07/23 because one of the changes required: "All SP21 vehicles with MGU22 from 23-07"
