Great photo Irv. I think the little convert has a great looking roofline.
Looks like a 128 w. 17" wheels but it's a guess.
btw...that wouldn't be Cashmere Silver would it?

Amazing, not the way I had hoped for (coupe/Mpackage) but still
an unmistakable sign. Sort of sweet when you think about it.
Danke Munchen.

There's something in the interior they want us to see.
I don't get it except for the obvious ...nice red, great cupholder.
top of the line config/i-drive/sat-nav

OK I got it, there's a discrepancy...2 antenna's ...one in the middle of the trunklid and one on the driver-side flank.
Fun spy-pics.

Man cool pics!!

That interior looks just fine to me. I do like the OPEN bin in front of the shifter MUCH better then the cheap little hinged door. I hope we will get to choose.

Thats also the first pic I have seen of the Nav closed. Not so bad.

Here's a pic of the 1er Cabrio on BMW2002.co.uk.
I think it's gonna be one sweet ride...

The one on the left fender is for the radio and the one on the trunk lid is for Sat. Radio.

Why the radio antenna is not in the rear window is beyond me? :iono:

Isn't that redundant? Couldn't sat and reg radio be in the same housing as on the 3/5/7? Or is there a reason to split them on converts and roadsters?

On the 3er sedan, coupe, and convertible the AM/FM antenna is in the rear window. On the sedan and coupe the Sat. antenna is on the roof (aka, shark fin. fyi it is also used for the accessory cell phone kit - 3W). On the vert it is obviously on the trunk lid since the the roof is retractable. Seeing as the 1er vert has a cloth top there is no where else for the Sat antenna to go.

I think its part of the conspiracy that BMW is trying to make this car uglier and uglier:tongue:

Maybe because when the top is folded down it would ruin the reception?

GREAT call. Hadn't thought of that. I'll bet you're right.

First impression: it's not quiet what I was hoping it would be. But I'll wait until I see it in better photos and in the daylight.

BUT... the E93 vert does not have an antenna mast on the left fender like the E46 vert.

Great point. Maybe the rigid structure of the hard top on the E93 provides the support/protection necessary to protect the wires through the folding process, while the fabric top of the E88 wouldn't provide the necessary protection. I'm just pulling stuff out of the rectal database here. :iono:

The light-blue convertible picture with the woman is the first picture of the 1 series where I think it looks small, and that has me a little concerned. I know it is not supposed to be big, but other posts made it sound as if it was close in size to the E46. The front seat may be moved up, but her head seems close to the top of the windshield and there does not appear to be much room from the windshield to the front headrest. What makes it worse is that there does not appear to be much rear seat room - especially if the front seat is up a fair amount in the picture. I need a usable rear seat and am starting to think about getting an E46 330 convertible since it may have a bit more room. I guess I need to see the 1 series in person before I rule it out.

The back of the car is photochopped. Look at the difference in color and where some of the lines just disappear.

No need to worry. I tracked down the original image and it is a photoshop of the euro 1er hatchback made to look like the artist's best conception of the 'vert at the time.

I think 'chop job probably threw the perspective off; I don't think it's as bad as the picture makes it look.
